...and boy was I surprised. Nice little package. Smaller than I expected. Everything was packaged neatly inside the flat-rate mailer box. Opened the box containing my 510 unit and proceeded to remove the batteries and charge one up. To my surprise, by the time I finished going through the rest of my package (not much, just some blank carts and a 50ml bottle of 24mg Desert Ship E-juice), I was shocked to see the green light on my charger. It appeared that my batteries came with plenty of charge, cool! Swapped batteries on the charger to top the other one off and loaded one of my pre-filled carts that came with the kit... DeKang's USA Mix.
WOW... talk about nasty. Tasted like one of my former roomate's stale RYO's. Ok, no big loss, came with the kit, and turkish has always been my tobacco of choice, anyway.
So, I loaded up one of the blank carts with Desert Ship and... BAM! What a throat hit! I haven't been kicked in the pipes that hard since I took a drag off an unfiltered cig my buddy back in Alabama used to smoke (wanna say the brand was Pall Mall, but wouldn't swear to it. Might have been Lucky Strike.). Taste was acceptable. Not a perfect match, but one I can live with.
Gonna have to go easy on this thing, though, cause it kicks like a ******-off mule. Maybe it's the break-in time, maybe it's the strength of the juice, maybe it's the PG, I dunno, but it's there. Overall, for a first experience, I'm not disappointed because this is a new medium for the nicotine, but sadly, I'm not impressed either. I guess baby steps will be in order while I get used to the change in the nature of the substance inhaled.
One thing I CAN see beyond a shadow of a doubt, is how this could help someone quit smoking traditional cigs. No humor in that, just honesty. If you can get past the initial change, I can see home plate being in easy reach.
Question... is it possible to clean out the pre-loaded carts and get that god-awful crap out of them so I can re-fill them with something I'm actually going to use?
