i guess whatever works for you is the best way, once perfected they will all work well. it is funny how results differ so much from user to user. how one person can have so much sucess from one type of build, while another will not. personally i find it the easiest way just to wrap the wick once its in the device. i have tried the PK method and didnt see any added benefits, it only took more time & effort. all in all their all good, i mean these devices are pretty neat things. do you guys find yourselfs sometimes hidding them from people, like when your driving, or when walking your dog. sometimes i am so subconcious about vaping it around certain people.

The drill bit Petar K. method only works if you use a very skinny wick, because he doesn't oxidize the wick. It can't really touch the wick hole because it's electrically negative and will cause shorts. It is ideal for avoiding the pulse & prod method though, because if it's set up right the coil will glow like there's no wick there at all -- and the lack of firm contact with the wick reduces the "heat soak" effect, allowing the coil to heat faster and allowing use of thicker coil wire.

Whatever works, though. These things are like FrankenGennies at this point with all the different ways to set them up and get them working.

The times I pre-wrap most is when I'm using 32ga (or thinner) wire. When I use 28ga, I tend to go with the Petar K method. 30ga, I can free-hand or use either other method.

I toast my wick before rolling & the torch it good after it's tight. I'll do a plain VG burn or 2 for carbon.

No matter which way, I can go from bare to vaping in ~5 min.
