I am a little put off by the author stating that after shredding, boiling, straining and reducing to a syrup the tobacco from a couple packs of cigarettes, you now have "pure nicotine".
For anyone that bought the book, does it really say "pure nicotine" or does it qualify that further in the book?

Because yeah, if it's pure nicotine, and you get one drop on your finger, you'll shortly be dead and buried.
So clearly, it can not be pure nicotine, can it?

And if it isn't really pure nicotine, then is there any discussion of what nicotine strength it is?

I just started playing around with DIY. I'm still waiting on my nic juice so it is 0mg for now. It is VERY fun to do. Also, I did the math and it is extremely cost effective.

As for the question whether the liquid will be the same as those bought....yes and no. It is composed of the same ingredients but you don't really know exactly what flavors/ratios the distributors use. The beauty is that you can find exactly what YOU like.

Side effects? No. It is the same chemicals. However, and I can't stress this enough, there is some risk involved in handling strong nic juice. Anything above 60mg can make you sick or very well kill you if you get enough on yourself. Just be safe with it (gloves, mask, etc.) and keep it away from pets/kids and you will be all set. :2cool:

Ah, another point I wanted to bring up. If anyone decides to try this please make sure you know the strength. You can determine the concentration by following the directions here:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...st-mg-ml-nicotine-follow-up-dvaps-method.html

From what I read the book didn't seem very scientific which scares the crap out of me. I don't want any fellow vapers keeling over!
