I'd recommend 29ga for 1.5-2 ohms; 30ga for anything over 2 ohms. The 29ga is more durable, not as prone to deforming just from pulling a soaked wick thru, but for over 2Ω it would need a lot of wraps.

Do you have Steam Engine | free vaping calculators ? I highly recommend it for coil wrapping, and also for its ability to help you figure out if you're stressing your battery's amp limit (though I daresay 1.5-2.5 wouldn't stress anything).

Thanks for the links, I have and will continue to use it to determine how many wraps I would need to make a coil of my liking. This doesn't answer my question tho Mellow. Let me try and rephrase. I'm asking about the vaping experience difference of let's say 4 wraps vs 10 wraps (using 2 different gauges and still totaling the same resistance). The steam engine calculator would guide me with what wire gauge and the number of wraps that will equal my desired target resistance, but I would like to know what differences the same end resistance would be when just comparing less wraps vs more wraps.

In general I prefer 5-8 wraps. The end resistance can vary, depnding on wire gauge and inner diameter, but I find that 5-8 wraps produces the type of vapor I prefer. My long-time favorite was 1.8Ω, 8 wraps of 29ga around 7/64, but after I got a Magma and coiled it with a 1.3Ω coil, the 1.8 seemed a little underwhelming. Now I stay around 1.5Ω, 7 wraps 29ga around 3/32 drillbit, for my kayfuns. The 1.3Ω for my magma is still working just fine, so I haven't replaced it.

I build in the 1.6-2.1 ohm range. I prefer coils built at 6-8 wraps regardless the gauge I chose. Using steam engine or other coil calculators I decide the wattage I want to vape at, then the temp I want the coil(s) to run, then find a wire gauge and ID diameter the fit the desired spec. I prefer ID of 2.5mm +- 1mm. For a say a 1.6ohm coil I might use 28,29 or 30 for a single coil. If I was building mutli coils or parallel coil I would use 31,32 or even smaller. Since my Mod is Kick regulated to 5-12watts, I target my ADV builds to 8 watts. Then Vape in the 8-10 watt range.
