So I received my bobas bounty which I love but I have to drip it cuz cartos just dont work.

I pulled the cart off the 510 atty, on my standard ego battery. I place 2-3 drops directly on the bridge, put cart back on and its leaking all over the outside of the atty at the connection..

Any tips to stop this?

Oh and if it matters, Boba's is 100% vg

Huh. The reason I like dripping is because it is clean. I guess I have been lucky - no leaky.

Does your atty fit the battery well and screwed on securely?

Yeah it fits pretty good n snug. Mine are joye 510's. I am SOOOOOOO glad I got manual batts. :) I just kinda wipe it a lot on my jeans.... lol. But I like dripping because it tastes better, and I have problems with the filler wicking properly even tho I clean them good.

Hey Jim, I think I know the problem. I'm thinking when you put the cartridge back on, some juice slides down the side. What about using a drip tip, or another type of tip, or in a pinch, the round white top of a cartomizer?

When I use a 306 atomizer to drip, the drip tip slides on, and I have issues with it leaking, too.

I would try not using anything with a cart. On an Ego I had great sucess with a 1.5 306 from Avid Vapor or Joye. Just get an extra long 306 drip tip, screw on your cone and do work! The cone restricts airflow a bit, but it keeps the juice inside if you overdrip. Some people like the tighter draw. An atomizer will just suck the excess juice back into the atomizer with a drip shield. It goes back in the holes like a bottom feeder.

The drip shields already mentioned work for me. The juice collects at the bottom when you overfill and most of it gets sucked right back where it leaked from, kinda like how I imagine a bottom feeder works. It needs a 510 extender on my roughstack. I've never owned an ego but it sounds like the cone would work the same way without the extra holes for airflow...

my only question about these drip sheilds is "Then what?" They catch the fluid but does it just sit there. It looks like a simple enough design- basically a cup. Can you just pour off the excess? I assume you can but if you can't you're gonna make a bigger mess when you take them off.

Yes there will be a small amount of a mess inside there, but an o-ring sits just below the connection.
The next time you take a hit the juice is drawn back into the atty so that you can vape it.
That o-ring is the difference between just using the eGo cone and a drip shield cone.
Before Empire Mods came out with the first drip shield, many of us just slid an o-ring down over the atty so that it sat below the connection when dripping.

However since carto tanks came on the scene, I find that I don't drip nearly as much as I use to.

I build my own atomizers out of old CE2's that I use with my Drip On Demand Kit I only use it around the house though..it started with some regular short CE2 Clearomizers I had..I took them apart and removed all the rubber..then I took a metal tube from another cart and when I put the CE2 in the tube I pointed the wick up..pressed the metal tub into the CE2 then took a paperclip and tucked the wick all the way around the side of the ceramic so it will catch juice.

They don't leak unless I really flood them with juice,I tip them upside down or they fill up with juice (this happens with Carmel Tobacco as it's thick and a lot ends up "half burnt" in the tube)..these work good for regular dripping also and they work ok if you put an O ring in them but I wouldn't leave them on there side or hold them upside down for long. I do hang them upside down with a piece of paper towel stuffed in them to drain them..after a lot of use I take the tubes off rinse/wash them..burn them off if they coil still works (if it doesn't I make a new coil) reassemble and reuse.

They are a little wasteful as juice drips inside the tube (turning them on there side for a few seconds can soak the wick with "lost" juice) but they work great with my fav Carmel Tobacco as it is so thick it doesn't wick in carts well and kills regular atomizers. I could just drip on a CE2 but when I build them like that I get a lot more flavor.

I also make my own coils and replace them in my homemade "CE2omizers". I keep looking for and trying ways to improve them but for now they are what works and aren't very messy..I have about 4 of these and almost always have a clean one ready to go :)
