I saw an article where someone said they put 30ml PG into a cup, 2 teabags and microwaved for 30 seconds and let it steep, while covered, and it created some really good flavor.

I'm wondering, could the same thing be done with dried herbs, tobacco (from a cig or pipe)? Put the stuff in a teabag (or make your own maybe using a coffee filter?) and steep it that way in PG so that you don't have to worry about filtering particles out later?

As far as flavor, if I did this with a few Camels.. would it taste more like a camel than some of the tobacco flavors I've tried?

I'm not worried about nic level at this point.. just want to experiment with some different tastes... and this microwave method.

Thanks!

if you want to try it with tobacco make sure its 100% organic and the such....cigarette tobacco has alot of chemicals and i dont think that steeping it and everything else would be good, ive heard of people doing this also let us know how it turns out for you or if you go any other route, have a good one!-)

I recommend trying Kurt's method using VG:

Last year I made some using PG, and while the extract had a lot of flavor the quality of the flavor was not what I hoped for. American Spirit rolling tobacco might be a good one to try. Look for a light-colored tobacco; my pipe tobacco was dark and the extract turned out extremely dark.

I'll probably make another batch soon using VG and some Turkish cigarette tobacco.

If you did this with Camels, it would taste like unsmoked Camels. Kinda like using a tobacco absolute, just not quit as good and not anything like smoking a cigarette. Also tried it with a half smoked cigarette to try to get that smoke flavor, think I nearly threw up from that experience.

Some of the herbs (fresh) I've tried have worked nicely though. I'll normally just soak them in PG for a few days then filter the hell out of them. These tend to come out strong, so use sparingly, especially when combining with another flavor. Sage and Saffron have worked well for me.

Teas have been hit or miss. I've only tried loose leaf as I don't wish for the extra flavor provided by the tea bag. While vapeable, they never really turn out to be anywhere near as good as they are when drunk.
