Hey,
I've been preparing to make my first purchase for DIY e juice but I just don't know how to wrap it all up.
I'm enjoying smoking on 6mg/ml nicotine.
In my country I can buy VG/PG but I can't get clean nicotine to work with it.
There is a lot of mixtures of base like 0,6% nicotine/59,7%VG/39,7%PG.
I want to create a 6mg/ml 80%VG and 20%PG base. Then start using it with flavors.
How do I do that?

Hello @Ventrule, I don't know the restrictions of your country. If you buy 12 mg nicotine in a vg base (100 ml @12 mg for example), and add an equal amount(100 ml of zero nic/plain vg) of vg to it you'll have 200 ml of 6 mg vg.

The issue, is when you add flavors you'll dilute the 6 mg vg. Most of my recipes are in the 15 to 20 % range, of which most are PG based. Adding 20% flavor to the 200 ml of 6mg VG base will end up with 240 ml of 4.8 mg nic @ 80vg/20pg.

If you start with an 80vg/20pg and add flavors to it (20% for example) you'll end up with a final mix closer to 60vg/40pg as most flavors are pg based.

All nic sold here in the US is either in a VG or PG base...or a combo vg/pg base. I didn't quite understand this :There is a lot of mixtures of base like 0,6% nicotine/59,7%VG/39,7%PG The nic I buy is usually 100mg nic in a PG base. 100 mg nic is easy to use in either pg base or vg base.

If you can get nic in a base it works well when you use a juice calculator. I use these two :

http://ejuice.breaktru.com/ <--download I use
http://ecigvape.com/pgvg_calculator.php <---online

Using a calculator it won't matter which nic and base you use, it figures out what your final target mix is and tells you how much to use. Since you're going high VG I would suggest getting your nic base in VG.

Once you get your 5 posts in and wait till half past the hour you'll become a full member which opens up the forum for you to post links and pictures and use the private message function we call conversations.

Once you can post links (Full Member status) we can look at what is available to you and make specific recommendations.

Good luck in your diy journey, post if you need more info...

Okay, so there's no point in making base first. I should just use all of the components in one go.
On the site they're selling a 50ml base of 18mg nic 50vg/50pg. In order to achieve 6 mg nic 80vg/20pg in bottle without flavor I need to add 33% of that base + 3% of PG and 63% of VG in order to get 100ml, right?
So let's say I got a base 18 mg nic 70vg/30pg. I want to keep 70/30 ratio but change to 6mg nic and add 15% of menthol flavor. To do that I mix 33% of base, 5% of PG, 46% of VG and 15% of flavor.

I could figure this out in my head if I tried hard enough...but Using the ejuicemeup calculator you would figure it out this way...

Nicotine Strength - fill in 30 pg 70 vg and 18 mg
Target Nicotine - fill in 6 mg
Amount to make - fill in 30 ml (for example)
Flavor 1 - Menthol 15%
Ratio you want recipe fill in - 30 pg 70 vg
Bottom right hit calculate =

10 ml nicotine base (18 mg of 70vg/30pg )
+ 1.5 ml PG
+14 ml VG
+4.5 ml flavor (menthol) =

30 ml menthol juice @ 70vg / 30 pg @ 6 mg

Use the ejuice me up calculator and it does all the math for you. The calculator is perfect every time if you input the numbers correctly.

What the calculator does is convert the percentages into real measurements. I highly advise using one. I am afraid I would make a wrong calculation in giving you advice.

That's the company in the 2nd post. I just got their basic starter kit and it comes with everything you need to start working right out of the box. They also have a worksheet to help you know what amount of each ingredient to use.
I can't say enough good things about this kit. They say they ship internationally, so hopefully you can get it where your at.

Go online and check our various ejuice calculators that will work with the nicotine that is available to you . plug in the ratios you want and the calculator will spit out the formula for building your ejuice. Start making small batches because some will not be enjoyable. When you get a very tasty juice record the formula. Then make 15 30 60 or even 120 ml batches. I make 60 ml at a time but have been doing it a while.

I would never make ejuice from a new bottle of nicotine without using an ejuice calculator.

There are computer programs to calculate ejuice, calculators online where you can publish the flavors you like for other members to try, and even ejuice calculators for smart phones and Android tablets.

Check out Inawera. They are a flavoring manufacturer in Poland. They sell flavorings as well as PG, VG & nicotine base.

Susan thus is great for people out of the US.

YOU JUST HELPED A LOT OF PEOPLE. Shipping from the US to foreign destinations is INSANE.

Please post that again in the DIY section and pin it.

I am in the US getting ingredients is no problem. Those in other countries have a terrible time getting stuff they need.

I didn't even know a site like that existed ! Two more questions, the base they have is any good?
I saw a lot of different brands like Optium,Atmos Lab,Hangsen,Totally Wicked's, what's the difference between each one?
Same thing with flavours, like TPA and Inawera.

Never used any of their merchandise.

YouTuber PBussardo uploaded to videos about FlavorArt in Italy. The build the flavors and sells VG, nicotine, PG, and ECig flavors. That may be helpful.

FlavorArt supposedly produce 1000 kilograms of assorted products daily.
