Hey all! I recently got a brand new Provari. But after a few days, I'm convinced I should be getting a lot more out of it. Now I know a mod is only as good as it's topper, and all of mine are Kanger protank 2 or Kanger Unitanks (which my shop just stopped selling due to too many customer problems with them, that's all I know). I'm not getting it seems nearly as much vapor on exhale as I tend to see in videos and such. And every single one ends up getting juice on the connector. I keep my voltage at 3.8-4.0, as that's my sweet spot.

I also want a bigger tank. I had started looking at the Hypertank/G50 (not sure I'm liking how often I have to replace these atomizers as it is) , the nautilus (not as happy with it's looks), and then I saw IBTanked designs and instantly fell in love. My problem with ordering one however is I don't know what I am doing.

I know I want 5ml volume. I know I want purple caps (doesn't seem to be an option with the 25mm) and a rose/purple swirl. Past that I'm clueless on the technical side of things. And I'd of course need a beauty ring to make it sit flush.

I regularly use 70/30 juices at 24 nic.

I definitely want an IBTanked, I'll "Settle" for a G50. But from what I keep reading Carto is a game changer, and I want to get the most out of my experience so any advice on how to build/order would be very much appreciated.

why do you want a 25mm? not trying to be an ... but that is the diameter of the tank, the provari is a 23ish mm device, I don't think you want you tank much larger than you device.

If you want a 5ish ml tank, order 22mm caps, with an XL 45mm tube, I would also suggest a IBT pro ring(gives a hybrid look to the provari) and a carto filling tool.

Like I said, not enough coffee before typing this morning...thanks for the tip. definitely planned on the ring and tool as well. I'm just really nervous about making the change. I've spent the morning watching videos and reading, but needed just a little help with the choices, thanks!

I switched from clearomizers to cartos and tanks and went with the IB Tanked. Started with 1, now have 2, and ordering #3. Not sure about the Provari, but I have the MVP2 and the 19mm standard or XL works great on my devise.

If you go with IBT, order the Handy refilling drip tip for $2.50. Makes changing cartos and refilling tanks a piece of cake.

Flavor is pretty awesome, you just really have to learn to prime them properly, try a 5pk of ikenvape platinum punch v2.

From what I have watched, priming is relative to filling a Zippo lighter, just with the added care to not get any in the middle tube? ikenvape is out of stock at the moment, but I'll check back after I've gotten the tank, if I get my nerve up to buy the tank. I assume with 70/30 juice I want 2 holes.

I usually vape 75/25, they work pretty good for me. Although I have turned to the dark side... carto sized RBA's.

If you want the IKV cartos. Go to the site, pick out the cartos you want and then add to notify me when in stock. Act fast when they are in as they go very fast. I've been using the laser 2 hole punched Boge cartos and the results are very good. A good place to get them is Boge Mix'n'Match 5 Box Deal

Ok I'm going to take the plunge here. I'll initially get the cartos that IBT has, for convenience sake, after I decide if I like this way, I'll try something different. IKV has nice tanks too but I'm not a big fan of silicone caps, not to say I won't give them a shot later. So what I have gathered is...

22mm XL tank
XL tube
Smok 2.0 XL 2 hole cartomizer
the refilling drip tip/tool

and last but not least the IBT ring to make it sit flush with my Provari.

That sound about right?

Maybe add a couple or even a box (5) of cartomizers just in case you get bum carto. I have a 22mm Halfling and I love it! I just ordered another one yesterday. I'm very tempted to get an 22mm XL for myself; but that's a lot of juice for me!

I am just tearing through the small tanks most days. Especially when I'm working on my classes. I almost did forget extra cartos thank you!

I just ordered the same thing lol. I was very happy when I switched to cartomizers

Oh good to hear. The protanks and such do a great job on my eGo type devices (I have two smok winder VV and a little ego with a protank mini). But on my Provari...I don't know they seem less than stellar. This will be all new for me.

Don't be afraid to prime your cart using their "thingy." I used to prime using the thermometer method…which worked fine…but now I exclusively prime using the thingy. It's worked flawlessly for me. I give my tanks about 9-12 twists and stop when a drop or 2 of liquid comes out the bottom of the carto in the thingy. Good luck!

Okay, now I am interested. I have only been using BCCs, but people say cartomizers have more taste. So, I went to Ikenvape via the link above. They have two tank-looking items that look exactly the same, but about $5 difference. The difference in the product seems to be that one is "ported". What does that mean?

Good move.
The hypertank would have vaped just like a protank.
The IBTank got me hooked on tanks - now I have like 10 of them, and IBTanked was the cheapest (but it's good quality).
You can order a "complete tank" - tube/caps/orings, then add a few cartos and the "tank tool" - you need that to push the carto down when refilling the tank. I also recommend using the "Thingy" your tank will arrive in as a way to "prime" a new carto. You put the carto in the tank, fill the tank, put the whole thing in the cannister ("Thingy") and screw the top on and off a few times. This forces juice - like 1 ml of juice - through the holes into the carto so it's well-soaked. Then you vape it all day, fill it up, vape it all day, fill it up.
Eventually, the carto gets gunky and you replace it - but that may be a week or more.

I think you'll LOVE your tank/ProVari combo! It beats a clearomizer on the clearomizer's best day.

Well, if the colors mean a lot to you, another option is:

CREATE-A-TANK NEW!

They've got your purple. I'm thinking of the same color myself, actually. :)

Bookmarked. Good price and options. Though, the tank I have now has gone through a 3ft fall onto cement, top first, with the weight of a 134 behind it, and doesn't have a blemish. It was about ten bucks more and doesn't have the port option or o-ring color option. I'm going to have to get one of these someday. Do you know if they sit better on the PV with a flanged or un-flanged carto? I have one that sits on my PV perfectly, but I've only used un-flanged cartos. So, I didn't have that in mind when I bought my second tank. It slides down over the air-holes of the carto before my beauty ring buffers it...

One more thing. I found that cartos gave me more "room" to play with the voltage.
In a Protank, there was a very narrow range between "no vapor" and "burnt".
With a carto, I am vaping probably .2 volts higher than I used to...so even if your old coils were 2.0, and your new cartos are 2.0...don't be afraid to see what happens at 4.1 volts.
:)
