I was curious, is making your own vs buying pre-made was cheaper? Not "better tasting" etc, but monetarily cheaper.

I see people spending thousands on e-cig stuff, so I'm not trying to go bat-..... crazy on it. Just a straight up ml-to-ml comparison :)

If so, where's a good place (site) to start? Can one go economy and no name brand on the non-flavoring stuff? Are kits worth it or is cheaper to buy all the stuff separately?

Thanks!

There is a large thread in this e-liquid DIY as a sub under Tips & Tricks.

If you vape everything you make, yes, it is cheaper. However that is not the main reason most of us mix our own. We do it because we like doing it. I started it because I wanted a juice flavor that didn't exist. Took me months of experimentation and quite a few ml's poured down the drain till I perfected it. I still have not recovered enough of that to really call my DIY cheaper, but, I don't care. I have exactly what I want any time I want it.

Join us in the DIY thread and read the stickys. You have enough posts under your belt to post there too.

Basicly i comes down to how Much MG of nicotine you use. If your a high nic user it almost doesnt pay to mix your own besides the fact you know exacly what your putting in it. Right now i vape 12mg nicotine and save about 50% to 66% on fluid using the average price charged by vendors for 30ml. Once you go up to 24mg nicotine you wont be saving a whole lot. The unflavored nic juice is by far the most expensive ingredient. VG and PG are really cheap Flavors are not To bad a price. Of course like anything else the more bulk you buy the cheaper it will be. So really to answer your question you would need to vape 18mg or lower to save money unless you buy your stuff in bulk.

I just started doing the DIY juice thing. I think it's going to save me a ton of money and it's really easy to do. It's as easy as making a gin and tonic with lime.... here's a good tutorial:
YouTube - E-CIGS FOR BROKE PEOPLE! Part 3 - DIY Juice
and the supplies don't have to be super-duper expensive if you shop around:
coupon code '10percent' : https://strictlyejuice.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65_38&zenid=ccsvc6rj5patg852ja59fijuk2
coupon code 'ecigforum' : Unflavored e-Liquid 54mg (60ml) mixing kit - $22.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

For me it's cheaper to mix my own as we can only get 0mg nic flavours here. So after starting on Dekang juices which were ok to start with, and having juice from juicewhore.com (Australian e-juice maker), there is no comparison!!

I will buy my unflavoured nic from the US and my e-juice doublers from Del..

Yet another 30 ml of unflavored with either 48 or 36mg: $12.00
One Stop DIY Shop, Unflavored E-Liquid and Accessories

MFS has options and price changes by nic level. Example would be 60ml of 36mg: $13.95
UnFlavored Smoke Juice - MFS Inc.

Freedomsmokeusa Has 100mg/ml juice (as does MyFreedomSmokes) and I absolutely do not suggest that as a starting point. If you are very new to mixing, start with juice under 36mg, 48 if you are a heavy nic user.

For cost.., that all depends. If you are good at mixing and make the juice last by diluting it properly; yes it can be much more cost effective in the long run. Though it can be costly at the start if you are learning how to mix. Make small batches at first. It will be easier to learn from mistakes without depleting your supply.

Being someone who can follow ratios and isn't a klutz, I'm pretty sure I can go with 100mg...
