I found the crystals and the powder both at P.A. I recently realized I must use vg based everything. Is there any difference between the two other than one is a crystal and other is powder. I am thinking powder for vg base , just sounds like it would dissolve better and faster. What would be the percentage mix in vg? meaning like what ..a teaspoon in 50 ml vg..??

Dissolve 1/4 teaspoon of Ethyl Maltol crystals in 10ml of EVERCLEAR

Ethyl Maltol dissolves at an extremely low maximum % in VG so as Slick said you'll need to use PGA if you want to avoid PG.
