My fist PV was an Ego Twist 1000 with both a Ego T and a CE/Stardust. I also had ordered a Provari. At almost 1 week in the Provari arrived but the Twist quit. Less than a week later (last fing night) my Provari quit. I was so disappointed. I did notice that the Provari had gotten at least 4 (E8) errors but the book said that if I got a lot (subjective) to send it back.
I'm racking my brains to figure out the possible causes. I do not have a static problems. I was careful not to get liquid on the contacts and if I did I would wipe it off PDQ. So far the only thing that I could come up with is that I used the Stardust on both and the Ego T on both. I trashed the stardust.
HELP ME! LOL

Shouldn't be any atomizing device that would kill a battery. The only thing I could think of would be the battery in the ego was overcharged. I use a plug in lamp timer that shuts off power at 5 hours so I can't overcharge. For the provari, it could just be that it was faulty. Was it new or was it from the classifieds?

Yea. Different batteries and I cleaned the contacts. The provari is just days old. It happened on all my tanks etc. I get no alpha numeric display and no voltage.
LOL love the avatar KuroCz. I probably should have asked them about that sooner. But it was new and only had a couple of days. The E8 happened about 4 times on diff attys. I tossed the CE just to eliminate that and I plan to phase out the ego t's. Thing is they work fine on another battery. I'm waiting to hear back from P.V.

E8 I believe will require a trip back to home-base for a replacement circuit board. I kinda sorta remember it happening to another member here. Are you sure you are not over tightening your atties/cartos on your batteries?! This is a sure fire method for creating shorts..

Out of curiosity, how would that create a short? I always figured a short was a failure inside the carto/atty.

On standard 510 battery connectors the centre pin (positive) is mounted in a piece of silicone that isolates it from the rest of the connector (the outer part of the connector is the negative). If you look at a connector you'll see a whitish or black material sandwiched underneath the central pin. Some cartos, I think Stardust's and Vivi Nova's are known for it, can have their centre pins protruding out from the connector. If you put one of these on a battery and screw it down hard, it crushes the silicone isolator and causes direct contact between positive and negative (a short).

They just need to be finger tight and be especially careful if you have any carto's with the middle of the connector protruding.

Your not a loan its not unheard of for egos to die at any given time you didn't have to do any thing wrong. Bite the bullet get you an American made VV mod and an extra set of batteries. then hit the clasified for a deal on a Lavatube then you have a back up. Just in-case.
That is my plan. I have heard nothing but good about the v2.5. Good advice.

Hi Steve,
The most important question is what is the Ohms of the Cartomizer or Atomizer are you using.?

I had a Provari Version 1 and within 1 week of Vaping the Vivi Nova 1.8 it went bye bye.

Did you buy the Provari from Provape, if so it should be a version 2, if you bought in the classifieds and it was a version 1 than
it's circuit board won't tolerate many Dual Coil and Lr Cartos/Clearos/Attys

On the Provari, are you using High Drain Batteries? Orbtronic or AW High Drains are fine although Provape recommends AW IMR only.

For curiousity, which brand of Ego Twist did you buy. Was it genuine Joyetech? Some of the knockoffs are good and some are crap.

Thanks for that info. I just pulled my boge off mine to have a look and I noticed thick black liquid from 25hrs of chain vaping collecting around the connector pin on the pv. Cleaned that off with a q-tip and tastes much better with such a small cleaning.

Hello, I dont know about the Provari , but you might want to take a paper clip or small jewelers flat head and pull the 510 center pin on your ego twist. Sometimes certain things like over screwing a carto or atty might push it enough so it doesnt make contact. You can also check the center pin on the charger, it also can get pushed down and either give you a false "green" light as if its charged but its not.

The provari might also have a related problem if your carto/ atty has the center pin pushed in, or if the connector is off center. This could short the carto/ atty, or even your MOD. I hope this helps, and I hope your provari gets back alright. Just be sure to keep all your connections clean and dont over screw your juice delivery accessories. This happens to me every time I use my VIVI nova. It has a longer than usual 510 center pin and it pushes the center pin connection on my KGO and I have to bring out my little screwdriver.

Update. LOL My twist started working just as I was about to send it back. I had received a replacement already and nob me. I got them mixed up and now am not sure which one had the trouble. All I did to get it working was try it in the charger for like the 8th time and it started working. LOL So I am spending the week end switching back and forth to see if one fails again. Only think I can figure is a intermittent connection or some kind of safeguard that switched back on. So now I have an Excuse to vape a lot more.
The Provari is in the mail to Provape for a checkup. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks all

OK I just had a Popping noise. The kind you get when you remove your cranium from your .... orifice.
I didn't get instructions with the Twist. I did not know if you push the button 5 times quickly that it puts it into standby mode. That was what the problem was. Not the twist.
stupid stupid stupid.
LOL.
