None of that has anything to do with harming the THR movement. Even if there were never another equipment failure, those against thr would still be against it, for their own reasons.

Though, regulated mod owners saying they're happy about the one year (or so) of life they got out of their mod makes me pretty angry at these companies. I would normally consider that to be a either very bad product design or lousy assembly QC...or both.

I think a full year is rather "generous thinking" on your part.

To be honest, I was kinda suprised when I started ordering vape gear, to find how truly badly made most of it was. I didn't mind because I was desperate, at that time, to quit smoking. Now.......if they were in the classifieds here for "postage only", I probably wouldn't kick in the $

Agreed. Though I would be stunned to find out that any vaping-related company had the budget for Class 3 inspection. Would be wonderful though!

In my opinion design is a huge factor too. In our demand for small devices the manufacturers have had to make huge compromises in designing for reliability and safety. Frankly, I'm stunned that most last as long as they do. I have to admit how I will feel about a mod's lifespan will be largely dependent on how much I paid and if I subjected it to abuse. I have some mods I bought with the intent they would be abused, lol! I have a small farm. I have certain cheap mods I bought to use for farm work and other grunt work. One is a $20 MVP. Others are isticks. If one dies prematurely it will likely be my own fault.

Now if one of my sx minis only lasts a year I'll be angry. My oldest mods are roughly 12-14 months right now. Two are mechanicals though. The other two are a Sigelei 100W and an istick 20W. I'm actually a little surprised the istick is still chugging along. I've not been kind to it. The Sig hasn't been babied either.

That has to do with the supposed lethal dose of nicotine. 2ml's x max 20mg/ml =40mg of nicotine max in a tank. The LD50 of nicotine is supposedly 40-60mg's/kg. So the tanklimit of 2ml keeps us all safe. Or so 'they' claim.

I think that there's a big difference between the cheap china mods and the better made, more expensive ones like the sigeleis. Maybe internally there is little difference but when i shake an itsick and hear the button rattle and try it with a sigelei 150 canae reproduce. Given almost everything is now made in asia pacific, i think its the spec that is what really counts. Otherwise all the phones would be junk. Maybe i am just naieve but the outward build quality gives me some hope this is true.

Being given lousy customer service from a US based vendor today who seem to think is should remind them to finally send me the 186 dollar order in the morning, after a week of this stupid.

Does not make me want to wave ANY flags around. Harrummph.

Honestly its hit or miss.

I have over 80 Chinese mechanical clones.
Most are pretty dam close to their original counterparts, in build quality, flaws and all at a tenth of the cost.

Some are far better.
I have several that surpass my super T mechanical in build quality.

Regulated is a whole different story.
Only my Innokin regulated devices seem to be up to standard.
Never had a single hiccup.

Every other Chinese regulated devices failed or had gremlins installed.

Honestly from what I've seen especially on the mech side, the Chinese mods are better now than they were 2 years ago.

I had a chdna 30 mod, the only difference between it and the DNA was battery life. The DNA was more efficient but is it because of the board, wire, or soldering ?

Look at the IPV or Innokin, Chinese and pretty solid. China can make A one stuff but like said earlier, it depends on what the contractor wants the price point at.

You can have things- good, cheap, or fast. You can only pick 2. That's the way its always been, lol.

My Smok50 is a good mod, I like the weight and the onboard charger must be zip. My Hcigar vt 40 is my favorite. My volts and spinners all good. Well the vt40 is an Evolve DNA 40. It happens to be my favorite. It has one smooth vape which I never experience prior to it. Innokin check.. cept for that blasted pin and proprietary batteries..good business decision bad consumer decision.

My chinese mech battery holders.. check. Dug my brass 12 dollar nemy clone up from the backyard last weekend (a year there). A little cleanup and still works. Looked like crap so I covered in in some wet cloth and salt and dug another hole and put it in. Stainless 18 buck nemy clone.. it just works.

Most were used as reference guides.
