I've decided to build it differently than any other MCM mod so far. Its shorter than the single 18650 mods and about as wide, but using dual 18500 batteries. Im still waiting on some plexi for the screen window, but its coming along nicely.
The small holes on either side of the big one will be small tactile switches barely protruding from the wood that will control the wattage up and down.
You can see the where I have drawn the area where the screen will be. I am waiting on the tinted plexi to get here before I cut that opening. Im going to cut a recess for the plexi where it sits flush with the wood.
The door is definitely different than any MCM mods yet. Its going to be fitted with magnets.
The more I look at the door, I think I should have made it like a sliding lid with dovetail joints.
This is just a Prototype mod, so I would like to hear everyones thoughts on the design. It looks like crap right now, but keep in mind, I haven't sanded it or put a finish on the wood yet. Its just a roughed out box right now. I will probably steer clear of the lacquer finish on this one and use a Danish or Tung oil to finish the wood.

So I got the DNA20 prototype up and running today. I now see that my box design for it has some flaws. I just hot glued the dna in so I can take it out and wire it into something else, but the DNA20 is pretty sweet!
I had to take a pic without the flash because the screen wouldnt show up in the pic otherwise.
I learned a lot of what NOT to do when making an oled screen fit into wood. The DNA screen is an unusual setup to be in a wood box. You can see that the viewable area of the screen is off center in the window. Also I will need to do some sort of veneer border around the screen to clean it up a little. Tactile switches are harder to mount in wood than I thought. There's still some design kinks I need to work out, but it shouldnt be too hard. Also I am not going to use a dual battery setup for these. I started making a few boxes that will take a single 18650 and the screen will mount vertically.
