Here's a preview of the next batch of mods.

The one on the far right is going to be a DNA12 mod, but i'll only put a DNA12 in it if someone wants it.

If by chance someone orders the one on the right, but has a DNA20 chip, would you be able to accommodate that upgrade?

The one on the right will only use a dna12, the 20 wouldnt fit.

What are the woods on the 1st 4 mods?

from left to right - Zebra/Wenge, White Wenge/Black Wenge, Macacauba/Wenge, White Wenge/Black Wenge, Black Willow/CheChen

The Zebra mod is already sold :)

I love the Macacauba mod, but it's gone. What do you have available for endcaps besides wenge? Anything not so dark?

The main reason I use wenge for caps is because I have so much of it and the dark color compliments most woods. Next time I pickup wood I'll get some other stuff to use.

Before I order a couple of 18650's (in anticipation), I thought I should ask for advice.

(1) Is there room in the mod for a protected (non-IMR) battery? Do you even recommend anything besides an IMR? (I seem to recall that evolv recommends only IMR chemistry for the DNA20, but I can't find my notes).

(2) Is a button top battery desirable (necessary), or will a flat top work just as well. If both will work fine in your mod, is there some advantage to one over the other?

Thanks! (Waiting for a Macacauba or similar darker, redder wood too).

Protected batteries will not work in these mods. They dont have a high enough discharge rate to be safe. They would possibly allow the mod to fire at low wattage, but if the protection in the batt fails it could blow your face off :)

I recommend the Panasonic CGR18650CH, or the red AW IMR 18650. flat tops should work, but a button top will fit better.

Only use High Drain batteries!! Both the panasonic and AW IMR have a 10amp discharge rate and are safe to use. If you have questions about other batteries send me a link to them and I will research them for you.
