manual pass throughs keep failing when dripping

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding something (I suppose I must be, or I'd not be having such difficulty!) I like the strength (throat hit) of the manual pass through(s), and like the immediacy and again strength/throat hit of dripping. I have KR808D type cartos, and though it looks like there's a hole in the connection end of the pass through, it is a manual version, so that means it is sealed, right?
Anyway, I keep burning out the pass throughs. My last (of 5!) will burn for a split second, then shut off. (Get that 'firing' sound when the voltage hits the juice, then pop, then nothing. Not long enough to take a hit.) But all the previous (4) have failed as well, after a short time vaping (maybe a day or two.)
Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? (I actually gave up on these entirely a couple of months ago - back on analogs, really don't want to continue that, but I can't be left vape-less in the middle of the night working on deadline, you know?)
I think this is the solution to my life long addiction, but not if I can't get it to work consistently.
Help, please?!

you could allways try adding a dab of silicone or superglue to the suspected hole and make sure juice isnt getting through, or do you think your popping the the cartos... most 808 PTs are 5v and if your carto is below like 2.5 ohms you can pop em really easially, just a thought hope you get it figured out!-))

Heyas Mayb,

Haven't tried a passthru yet (have one in the mail, should be here tomorrow), but 2 ego 650mah batteries are MORE than enough to last me through the day. Not to mention the 1000mah or even larger capacity fat batts that are out there. And most any fat batt starter kit would run less than the cost of 5 passthroughs, I'd guess. Oh, almost forgot to mention that I drip often with my ego and haven't had a batt or atty fail yet (although I'm sure it's only a matter of time).

Ok, interesting, Webbcm127:
I somehow didn't get that cartos are also rated for voltage. I'll check that. Of course, I've also been using the pass throughs (passes through? smile) because they're higher voltage, thinking that the voltage is what's making more vapor and a stronger throat hit (based only upon my direct experience comparing the manual batteries w/ the manual pass through - pass through much better, batteries not worth bothering with they're so unsatisfying. Auto batteries like vaping air!)
Thanks much for this and any other thoughts are much appreciated.

What is the power supply? Only PT's with real inline batteries can be used on a PC's USB or a battery charger's USB to AC. And these should not be used with anything that a plain battery of the same type shouldn't use. In addition these may not work until they have charged a bit. With these you are just vaping off a battery while it is charging.

Ones that have no real inline battery (ie ones you cannot unplug and walk around vaping) are running directly off power and must be run off a 2amp USB to AC. If you fail to do that you can damage it and whatever you are powering it with. ANd this is especially true if you are using anything LR on it.
