If using unmatched batteries they will drain unevenly and in a worse case scenario you'll have a potentially catastrophic battery failure. That'll definitely damage the mod and might injure you. Use matched batteries of the same brand and model, that have been bought together, and always discharged and charged together. You can't simply add a battery to a set that has already been used.

    It's not recommneded to mix batteries like that. If the ones you have are fairly new then buy a fourth of the same type and carefully them out.

    Just an FYI....Sony VTC5's are 20A batteries.
    The incorrect, but oft-quoted, 30A rating comes from a misreading of the datasheet.
