Welcome to the forum. The basic Micro coil works best in most applications. I have been building my own coils for 6 months and I still build one from time to time that looks a little boogered up. But as long as it works properly I'm satisfied. I also just recently quit heating and squeezing the coils unless it's needed. When I test fire them if they fire up smooth and even I leave them alone. Squeezing them will cause them to ramp up slower so I still use that in a dual coil build if one is heating up faster than the other. Otherwise as long a they glow from the inside out I leave them alone. :2c: Good luck and happy vaping.

You should search more on local online markets before asking here. I know it's convenient but remember, convenience to you also means convenience to the government. Chances are not many locals uses kanthal and narrowing down a hunt will be much easier. Trust me. Popular market sites have a few.

Wah i see many Professional builder here leh! All ex stuffs

My tools 80% bought from Daiso. My long nose Plier, wire cutter, 1 box of diff size screw driver ( for coilin & screwing) & fish tacker box. (all from Daiso). Then go Pasa Malem get the nail clipper, tweezer and small scissor. And wala full gear under 10... ready to rock and roll.

Nowadays i dun pre-burn my coil like i used to do, i will just build my micro, heat it, pinch it to make it nice and tight. (this process will also oxide the coil).

Nice. With abit of Bossanova in the background, and light pitter-patter sound of the drizzle outside your window (with curtains drawn, of course!).

used to do that with those cotton you get in the pharmacy, with muji cotton its fine, what I like to do is tug the cotton after snipping a strip. Just tug on it a little feeling the fibers loosen up. :D

in the absence of a multimeter (hypothetically) if one uses 28 gauge kanthal, coil it between 4-5 times around a 2mm post, on the average will you get an ohm reading of around 1.1-1.5 ohms? any experienced coil makers out there can answer this? I know it's safer to ohms test a build but certain builds always give a certain range of ohms right?
