Yup. Unfortunatly, that means he has a LOT to learn going in. Way more than he anticipates. I know that's why people voted for him, but that can be a very dangerous thing, not knowing why things are done the way they are. Hopefully, though, he will be a champion for change without getting us blown up.
That was a really good read! I do have to say, though, that Grays Harbor County, where I live, made the news last night because for the first time in history we collectively voted Republican, and by a WIDE margin. I'm in shock, and so are a whole lot of others. Our county, and especially Aberdeen, is known for how community-oriented we are. We band together to help our neighbor, no matter what color their skin is, what they believe in, or what their economic status is, so I don't get it. Apparently, neither does Seattle because it was a major news story last night, lol.
To bring things into perspective, Hillary has as much racism and homophobic skeletons in her closet....but the media chose to bury it, while on the other hand, many of Trump's comments didn't actually say what the media portrayed them as saying. Much of this nations division can be attributed to corrupt and biased media.

When I was a kid, my parents would and could, beat my .... and make me remember that we don't act like that.
Today, you'll go to jail for trying to teach your kid right from wrong. And the justice system is a joke
I would laugh when those same kids "grow up" and try to get their bosses to give them the day off from work......I hope they get used to standing on the unemployment line.
One other statistic is that less than 60 percent of eligible voters actually cast a vote. If they didn't cast a vote, then they should have no right to complain.
The country is really split between the "city" folk and the "country" folk. If you look at how the vote came out by county, all of Clinton's votes came from the major metropolitan areas. Outside of the big cities, Trump dominated. Living in a blue state, I know my vote is meaningless in an election for president or senate. With NYC making up such a large percentage of the population of NY, the Democrats will always win NY. This is why as soon as the polls close, they call NY for the Democrats without even needing to count a single vote. I still vote because my vote does count for district and local elections. If the electoral college was distributed not by winner take all in the state, but by Congressional district, with the two Senate electors decided by the winner of the state, Trump would have won by an even larger margin.
And forget the joke of a push of Californians wanting to secede from the US. That will never happen. The Texas state constitution has a clause that says that Texas may secede from the US, but the US Supreme Court already decided back in 1869 that the clause is invalid. It decided that the union is insoluble and can only be broken through rebellion (and we all know how the Civil War ended) or by agreement by all 50 states (like that will ever happen).

Seleya, do not give up hope! I think you just need to take the advice of others and go through someone not the bank.
I am not sure how you feel about North Florida but land can still be bought her failry cheap. AND you can put an RV or whatever on it .. pay it off and then use the land as collateral to build a home.

Hubby and I were actually just looking at home here where we live. They have one right down the road .. they are asking 60+ BUT my friend bought the two neighboring houses from the same owner and she is sure they will take 50K
She had the key to show us the house. It was a little quirky but a nice size for two and a new roof. Move in ready.
All I am going to say about the politics is that I agree with Jseah about the whining crying college students.
What on earth are they going to do if something really bad happens?
As for the other reports.. I do not think that Trump is to blame if people are acting like aholes and using him as an excuse. If someone is inclined to act like that they would do so regardless of the reason.
I am not so sure that I can beliieve stories of young children mimicing Trumps alledged grab..
But lets say that is 100% true..
Where on earth did they get that idea? At last check elementary and middle school children prefer video games over watching politics.
And what parent would let a young child watch such mudslinging anyways?
I hope that I have not upset anyone .. I just find some of the reactions on the part of the public about losing to be ridiculous.
If any of the accusations about children behaving the way I have read is true?? I am not blaming trump for winning .. I am blaming some really really really crappy parents who raised them.

Hilary flat-out stands for equality. She has no problem saying that. She talked openly for equal rights for all. Of course she has stuff in her past, but his is not just his past but his present. He is just an awful human being. I would never leave my daughter alone in a room with him.
Right? Unless their bosses are of the same mindset. Then where will we be?????

I finally got disgusted with both my iCare. Both were flooding and squirting juice at my tongue. Tossed them aside and grabbed a Lemo wicked up the 1.2 ohm coil and filled her up and mounted it on my 20w istick. Ya'll ain't gonna believe this coming from me, but (once I remembered the fire button) I'm cranking this puppy at a whopping EIGHTEEN WATTS to match the vape I've gotten used to from the iCares. They've ruined me!

That's horrible.
I feel all of your fears. I have so many friends that are of different races or are part of the LGBTQ+ community. I know it's not super obvious and we get more leeway because of it, but my marriage is mixed, too. My husband is Asian.
I think what most people are more afraid of is radical supporters (and the vice president) than the now president-elect. It really opened up a can of worms. I have friends that supported him for what they believe are legitimate reasons that had nothing to do with hate, and I have no place to tell them that what they believe is wrong. I just wish it didn't come down to the choice we had.
I wasn't a strong supporter of Trump, and he was not my choice, but I could never vote for Hillary. I have zero trust in her and didn't like that she was "owed" the presidency.

There's actually a fair amount of land around here for sale that isn't too expensive as well. Ideally we would really like to stay in central FL because that is where all of hubby's family and our friends live. My family lives in Georgia, but they are too far north to make moving to north Florida a help and we would be split between both of our families. Ocala is probably as far north as we would like to be if we can help it.
Just so you guys can get an idea of what we were looking at, here is that little yellow house I showed before. You can see how nice it is. Not a fixer upper at all. It's $19.5k.

This one happens to be in a 55+ community, but there are some like it that are not and come with a small piece of land.
