I started with a simple kit with two standard 808 auto batteries. I soon added an 808XL PT since I do much of my vaping while sitting at the computer. A few weeks later I added an 808XL battery just for those times when I'd chain-vape away from the computer. A short time later I added another 808XL battery for the dual purposes of having a spare no matter what and to check out the ordering/service/delivery of a vendor I heard good things about.

A couple of weeks ago I started calculating how many times each battery had been recharged and wondered if I should start thinking about having replacements on hand.

Then one of my original batteries and my PT died within an hour of each other.

Fortunately, one of my favorite vendors had an 808XL kit on sale, and I'd been thinking about getting it anyway just to be safe, so I ordered it. Unfortunately, they didn't have a black auto PT in stock, so I ordered two from someone else.

For no sane reason, I've also ordered two more 808XL batteries from another vendor. By the tracking, they'll be here Monday.

It turns out I didn't read the description of the PTs properly -- these don't have an inline battery and work at a full 5V. They're usable, but I don't really like 5V vaping. I checked with another vendor and they'll be getting in XL PTs soon, so I'll order two, and maybe an extra XL.

In less than three weeks, I'll have gone from 4 batteries and a PT to 8 batteries and 4 PTs.

That's all? Lol

I didn't begin to feel comfortable until I had 4 batts in rotation and a couple in storage for when that time comes! And, I'm using the 650 mahs. I inevitably run out of battery within minutes of being in the car, period. I own a few "accessories" now!

It seems to be one of the "problems" with this hobby -- we like something and buy back ups. Then we upgrade........

Maybe you can sell or trade the pass thru's you don't like in the classifieds. It's one busy place.

The good thing about them is that since they don't have a battery, they shouldn't have a limited shelf life, so I can keep them as an emergency back-up in case PVs are ever banned.

Also, although I could never have justified buying one for this reason, I might sacrifice one for the air pressure switch and any associated circuitry -- I've kinda been thinking I might someday build my own mod, and since I can't conveniently use a model with a button, making it automatic might require canabalizing commercial models.

I use the button on my PT as a power regulator. I hit it for a second or two on a five second draw and that gets the vapor plenty warm for me. Try it and see if it works for you.

I have to use automatics. The buttons just aren't for me. There are two ways I 'smoke' -- hold it between two fingers or hang it off the corner of my mouth. I've tried several types of manuals, and I always ended up either feeling like a first-grader with a box of apple juice or juggling it, trying to change my grip to bring it up to my lips in a natural way before it cooled too much.

When I first started vaping, I bought 3 510 kits, 5 eGo kits, 3 PT's, and about 10 atomizers. I won't dare say what I have now...LOL.

I originally thought the six cartos that came with my first kit was all I'd need since I'd be refilling them. I imaginged I'd have to replace them once in a while, perhaps another set of five every month or two.

I've had to start color-coding them for whether they're LR, standard, or CE2, whether I bought them prefilled or as blanks, and by vendor. I once posted asking where I could buy empty condoms since the CE2 don't come with them and I like to properly 'pants' them after filling, but I recently put a sack of condoms away, keeping handy only the few dozens I need at any one time. :)
