mec fires funny

I have a black maraxus mod and when I put the battery in the correct way it will not fire, but if I take the battery out and flip it over to put it in backwards the mod auto fires. I have to untwist it to make it stop. I don't understand why it will fire backwards but it won't fire forwards. When I got it I had to clean all the threads because it had paint on it. Now so when I installed the battery backwards will fire, because prior to me cleaning the threads it didn't fire at all.

I don't know anything about that particular mod but if it has a magnet switch, do you have the magnets set to oppose (repel) each other?

Please don't put the battery in backwards.Most mechs will autofire when you do that. My guessing is you are using a flat top battery. Not sure about that mod but I am guessing the positive pin is not making contact. Is there adjustment?

I am using a flat top. I know its makin a connection because my button top wont fire on it

Yep thats what it is. It dont have the brass ring in the swtich. How can i fix that
