I don't know if this is posted in the right area I apologize if it's not, but I just bought the phantom mech mod and it's making the top and bottom of my battery turn a little brown not badly but there is brown spots now I've tried flipping my battery to make sure the positive and negative is touching the right areas. Does anyone know why this could be happening and if it'll destroy my battery? I already had to get rid of a set of batteries from sparking in my rx200 lol don't want the same thing to happen. Thank you!

Hi.
Please tell us about the batteries you are using and the resistance of the RDA/RTA/ topper.
Is the phantom (auth/Clone) brand new? Perhaps it would benefit from a complete cleaning/contact polishing.

Cheers
I

ETA:
I would polish with SS mesh, any and all contact points (battery also) and add a wrap to my coils for a .25Ω-.3Ω final to have a bit of "head space".
.2Ω on a New, fresh off the charger battery is pushing 20A and 80 watts.

Any chance you could post some pictures on the battery ends?
Micro-arcing at the negative end of the battery where the switch is is normal on a mech. This should not happen at the positive end where the atomizer connects as this should be in constant contact with the 510. You mentioned flipping the battery, this will work in a mech but is not generally advised as it has some safety implications.
The LG HE2 has a 20 amp CDR, 0.2 ohms is pulling 21 amps, it's advisable to leave some headroom in case of an autofire and also to prolong the life of the battery.
You also mention sparking on your RX200, that doesn't sound good. Was this with the same RDA?

I don't have it on me at the moment but I could update with some once I get home I believe my girlfriend fixed it she said it doesn't look as if it is doing it to any of the other batteries but I'll take a look
And no I had the Buddha v2 rda on my rx200 when the sparking happened it caused my rx200 to not turn on anymore unless it was connected to my laptop with no batteries in it so some guy I know offered me $20 for it to see if he could fix it himself lol

Brown spots?
Black spots could be carbon from arcing (normal with mechs)....but brown?
Thats not arcing.
We really need a pic.

Imho, 0.2a on a 20a CDR cell isn't "pushing your luck". The cell aren't taxed at 21a in such circuit either(because IR of cell).

When talking safety, then CDR doesn't need headroom either, unless old bad cells. It's rather a matter of longevity of cells rather than a safety issue imho.

It's though the general max recommendation for a 20a CDR cell imho.

Edit: Sorry nitpicking here :) It's fine to say e.g. 0.25 is general limit for 20a CDR too :) Also much easier to understand for noobs with normal ohms law calculations without taking my blabbing above also into consideration... I just meant that running 0.2 wasn't a dangerous thing to do...
