Mech Mod with Russian 91% V2 Not working

If it looks like the one that melted of yours, it should work.

What ohm coil were you using? I've read that the Russian and Kayfun tanks were designed to use coils over 1.0 ohm. (No sub-ohm coils).

The ohm i built was 1.3. Im a little upset because i was going to switch to RBA to save more money and didnt order more coils for my subtank. I have no clue what it looked like before melting. I never took it apart. I dont know if i can find a new insulator,and without one i cant use it right>

Nope. The insulator is a protection device; it did what it was designed to do by preventing your setup from exploding or starting a fire. Without a functioning insulator, it won't work.

I have a Russian v2 as well...the positive post like to spin unless you tighten it down with the little tool they sent. this could cause a short if it spun and touched something it wasn't supposed to. I had to use a pair of pliers to hold it while I tightened it on the bottom

Bingo, i would be willing to bet the positive block on the deck spun around and shorted

That probably happened. I Contacted the seller to see if they sell or have replacement insulators

Why get a new RDA if you only need a $4 + S&H part?

I've been using an authentic Svoemesto Kayfun Lite Plus for over a year. It's nearly identical to the Russian 91%.

Kelly, did you get the Stingray X? Or just Stingray? The X comes with a hybrid cap (direct connect to battery) and a Russian should not be used with a hybrid mod.

Just trying to eliminate another possibility.

sounds like the coil hit the funnel cap in the vapor chamber orrrrrrrr you may have used a bit too thick of wire and heated the +post to the point of melting the insulator.... its also possible that the + pin/offset was crooked and contacted the base of the atty...

Okay so a update. I took apart the base and found the insulator was not melted. The metal parts (screws,etc) looked a little bit burned but not ruined the insulator looked a tad bit burned around the edges
