But you would have thought there would be something outlining the dangers of mech mods if you exceed the ranges, I was a bit shocked to be honest, but ecf came to the rescue

I don't disagree with you. I think really these days the manufacturers consider the mech mod a niche market and one made up of people with experience. It is a bad assumption though.

Yes it is, fair enough I've got some electronics under my belt so am familiar with ohms law but the moment I set it up and fired for the first time was scary

I know the feeling. I used to teach Physics so yeah Ohms law was no problem but it was still nervy at first.

So can I unscrew the silver cap on the creas bottles, if I can that would be great, can't test it yet cause I've just refilled it and it didn't come with a spare
Yep. The top unscrews. It will still make a mess. If you don't have any spare bottles you might want to pick up a couple.

Yeah I ordered a spare, not arrived yet, thanks.
It's a lot less messy than struggling to fill it through the tube, a paper towel and unscrew, place on towel and when done refit and throw towel haha, honestly it was a pain till I got some tips

What's the Clapton cause I tried a kanthal Clapton and found the ramp up time was not good, that's why I used ss316 basic 6 wrap, I am looking for some ss316 claptons or maybe ni80 at about .3 ohm
It’s a SS 316L 28G core, forgot the wrap (?34G), maybe 5 wraps. Works well and ramp up is ok for me.May be less than 0.5, can’t remember the exact. I’ll have to check next time I clean the coil.

Thanks that's what I'm looking for cause ss316 in this single mech is the way to go, I'm not in a rush to get any yet cause it's really good with the ss I put in but I do know I can get better out of it

My experience has been that most of my little 22 mm flavor banger attys do great with a simple round SS coil. I have found for me that the Recurve needs a bit larger coil as the chamber is not as small as the others. It all comes down to personal preference, and the great thing is it's pretty cheap to wrap your own wire to play around and find your own sweet spot, especially important on a mech where there's no wattage to tweak.

If you want a great wire source and you're in the US, just go with Temco. They have all the sizes and all the metal types you could want and their prices are great. There's no need to buy specialty "vape wire" as it's usually just relabeled Temco wire at a higher price.

Simple builds are usually best on mechs I find. Clapton’s or wires wth more surface area take too long to ramp up for me so I use straight wire. I like the parallel coil build in my mechs but I wouldn’t do that in a mech with SS unless mabye it’s a single coil. Nichrome is my favourite to use I love dual parallel coils on a mech with NI80. I just keep my single 18650s mechs above the .17 ohm range . Any less is straining most batteries. But always do the math because each brand of battery have a different rating .

Also I wouldn’t unscrew the rda off or screw it on Top of the mod with the battery in. I take the battery out from the bottom when the rda is screwed on then when the mod is hollow with no battery in it I will unscrew the RDA. Just reduces the risk of a hard short.

It's like this crea I got, so cheap it's unreal, the build quality is very good so how do they make any money

It's been on the market for some time. It was around $30 on release. It was built as an entry level at the original price. I have a feeling you bought it on a clearance sale like I did. I picked mine up for $6.50, along with another older model but nice Stentorian RAM resin mech for the same.

What are your thoughts on the Stentorian RAM? I've been looking at that.

I had one and it was a nice little squonker. The resin was nicely done and it was easily one of the smallest 18650 squonkers I’ve held, my only gripe was the button was a little stiff.
