Regulated devices do give consistent power but to me a mech gives better flavor, as the ramp time changes flavor, of course I could just be nuts.
I could not see how a Mech gives better flavor, when you're using a Regulated mod you can simulate it to perform like a mech and what I mean by that is customizing the voltage similar to a a Mech. You can have it hit harder by having more voltages vice versa.
Plus, a regulated mod beats a mech in terms of performance.
The MOD itself is not responsible for the flavor IMO, it is the Dripper or the tank that will determine the quality of your Flavor.

When using a mech ( I build .35 to .5 ) it takes a second to ramp up. So when I drip, I start with a cool vape that gets warmer and thicker towards the end of my draw.

The cool start gives one type of flavor and when it warms I get more of a different type of flavor. My colossus is a great example ( custard ). It starts out vanilla and almost eggy flavored, as it gets warmer it turns into a more cake batter type flavor.

Now when I used tanks I preferred a VW device but when dripping I just can't get away from my mechs.
A mod can determine the flavor as well as an atomizer. They have to compliment each other to get a great vape and it is true with a mech, you can't just throw anything on it and go.

If you're curious about mech mods, pick one up and try it. It should not start off as your primary device, though. There is quite a learning curve compared to regulated devices. But once you've learned your optimum build and when to change batteries, mechs offer a different style of vape that is really enjoyable.

My everyday vape is a mech mod, in the form of a REO. But in order for the mech to become my everyday vape, I tested out a slew of different builds to find the one I like. That's not just resistance and ohms, but the gauge of wire, coil placement, and wicking, too.

If you're already well versed in vaping safety, try a true mech. At the very least, you would expose yourself to another style of vaping.

Plus mech's hide nicely with your other stuff :) It's like, spot the PV, the game.

Nope.
Mechs deliver power differently.
There is a very noticeable difference.

The ramp up time is just one difference.

It's all preference and purpose in the end. There's no right or wrong answer when dealing in a person's tastes.

Some love box mods, some tubes. Just like some people love to cloud chase and others prefer a more stealth vape.

That's why there are so many coil types and setups, not everyone is looking for the same type of vape. I am more after flavor than anything else, if it chucks clouds okay if it doesn't that's okay too, lol.

I think a lot of use are still chasing our unicorn. The best mod, Atty, and juice. I have come very close but just not quite there yet, lol.

Those Aspire CF devices are NOT mechanicals.
They have protective circuitry.
They are unregulated devices like an EGO but bigger, with removeable cells.

Mechanicals have no protection.
Totally different animal.
Don't confuse the two.
;)
Technically an ego is regulated because its fixed at a certain voltage (usually 3.7). Unless you are using a twist that is

They do have a "cf sub ohm" which is protected and regulated and they have the "cf sub mod" which looks nearly identical but takes an external 18650 and is a mechanical
