Not sure I'm ready to take the plunge just yet into the mech world I do have some questions. Can you change the voltage or wattage on a mech mod?? Do you get the changes from your coils in your vape?? Like better taste or TH with higher or lower resistance? Can you use a tank with a mech mod or is it just a drip method? I am very interested in it but don't want to jump in blindly. Thanks folks

You can't change the voltage on a mech mod, although as your battery wears down your voltage drops. You can change your wattage though through the resistance of your coils, lowers ohm coils = higher watts. I enjoy the throat hit, flavor, and vapor production of using low ohm mech mods. I also enjoy the simplicity and durability of a mech mod. You can use use a tank or drip atty same as an other mod but using a rebuildable device lets you take advantage of low ohm coils.

I have a Protank 2 sitting on my mech right now. .9ohm coil with cotton. So, you can use a regular 510 BCC, cartotank or Clearo on a mech. That said, I also use RBA and Drippers as well. You can ALSO get a Kick device add-in which will turn your mech into a variable wattage device. I have one, but rarely use it.

To go mech, I strongly suggest getting a digital multimeter - to check your battery voltage and Atty resistance. You don't want to drain your batteries past 3.6 volts. Also, buy an decent charger, like a Nitecore or Xtar. Only use IMR safe chemistry high drain or hybrid batteries, NOT PROTECTED. And don't buy any batteries with "fire" in the name. Suggested batteries are AW, Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, Efest and MNKE. Read Baditude's blog on batteries and battery safety.

Looking at your avatar it's safe to believe that you already know what VV & VW are. Well look at a mechanical mod as being VR.
With a mechanical you simply choose the resistance that will produce the vape that you want instead of adjusting the voltage.

That's what I was thinking. I want as much info as I can get before I do the mechanicals.

You can use a kick in a mech mod to get VV/VW if you want.

It seems to be a whole new world. Just wondering what the batteries will put out. It seems to me it would be like one of the non vv ego batteries just on a bigger scale depending on the battery you use. It seems the more I read and ask the more it makes perfect sense.

The Li-Ion batteries that we use in vaping are considered to put out 3.7 volts. (3.4v - 4.2volts). There are three types of Li-ion battery chemistries: protected ICR, unprotected IMR, and hybrid (a chemical mix of ICR and IMR). The last two are also considered "high drain" and "safe chemistry" (unprotected).

A small number of vapors stack two smaller batteries (18350 size) in a battery device that normally uses an 18650 size battery. So instead of 3.7 volts they are now working with over 7 volts of voltage. This practice is generally not recommended due to safety reasons with batteries. This stacking of batteries does not double the time the battery device can be used.

I thought I would miss the vv/vw aspect of my zmax if I went to mechanical...I do not! The vape I get from a mod is superb and with an rsst I can't lose.

I work with clones for budget reasons and the nemesis clone out does the king mod clone. I went through two kings to find my nemmy... Highly recommend the nemesis clone from hcigar.
