I have a question too sorry if it's been asked.

Is it correct that the kits will lower the voltage drop when firing kinda like in the "spring what spring" thread?

Related will they have a safety short at all like they do with the spring?

IMO at least for me I don't feel like I need the safety feature of the spring bc I don't intend to build coils less than 1.0 ohms. Around there they hit very hot anyway so I don't see the need to build lower. Also I can't even vape my REO when the battery voltage drops less than 3.6V or so. Vapor production is so low it's pretty much pointless and tastes kinda funky at that low too.

I would be very interested in these upgrades if the voltage drop were lowered using them.

Yes, they will :)

The spring will still be there, it's for safety purposes and will continue to function as it always did, just less voltage drop

The "safety" aspect of the spring is in case you have a hard short in the mod, it's to prevent the battery from frying your mod/face/hand/etc. It is needed even if you don't vape low ohm coils.

I would be very interested in these upgrades if the voltage drop were lowered using them.

Answers are in red above, interspersed within your quoted post :)

Hey Rob I had a question. What happens to all the other firing pin and springs? I assume you would still have a good deal of stock left when you change over. Will there be a discount on those, or normal price until your stock is depleted? Either way I will still buy both regular and sub ohm kits. Just curious. Thanks

Not sure if I missed this, but do you have an idea about cost for the upgrade kits? Or for your charges for doing the work for those of us who are less certain of their ability to DIY the upgrade?

The kits will only go up a couple dollars . As for installing the new kits $35 sounds fair to me

Sweet. You're the man! So I've just gotta decide if I can hold out until march to get a new mini. Maybe I'll get the extra batteries and charger now, so that it's not quite so much of a hit when the new mini gets ordered.

I would say 2 to 3 days I will gut whatever I have on the shelf and rebuild them with the new contacts and buttons

I don't know how many you keep on hand...but I hope everyone sees this extra step. Not only are you getting these out asap...but you are retrofitting existing reos you have for sale? This is labor, and more parts Rob is sticking himself with. You are a rare vendor, sir.

The new contacts will be shipped to me on 03/14/2014 Once they arrive I will need a couple days to get the kits made up.

Thanks for the update Rob.

I gave one of my Grands to a co-worker at Christmas so I'm quite enthusiastic at the idea of a new upgraded olive drab to fill the void.
My remaining grand is still working as well as the day I received it 8 months ago. I wish all my purchases in life left me with this lack of regret.

cheers

When are these in stock I had to shelf my Reo due to arcing at the spring for many months now. I am trying it with a 1.5ohm 30ga setup right now because I am tired of the vape I'm getting while out and about on a provari / carto tank setup but still see some intermittent sparks. Very interested in this and possibly more Reo's if they are fixed up now.

There is no reason to put your mod on a shelf if its cleaned properly and you use noalox you can run sub ohm on the mod .

So I just ordered my first Reo yesterday and it will be here tomorrow (Rob already you have blown me away with speed) anyhow I came across this thread and it looks like I orederd right on the cusp of a change, now I am wondering what version I will be getting. I am fine with either setup, just wondering if I should keep my eye open for the upgrade kit.
