Going to have to be a resin for me. I know I would break the Woodville, or my kids would help. For example, My TRA, sitting on the table minding his own business, pow! A toy comes flying out of no where, rc helicopters are fun but dangerous, TRA flies off the table onto the tile floor. Plastic drip tip snaps off in my omega. Man! Children! I don't have anymore of these drip tips!. Of course the TRA and the omega survive, that's why i have stuck with the grands, much larger degree of indestructiblishness, new word!!

of all the woods Ive had Koa was the strongest I had to sell my beloved VV Koa as beautiful as it was I just couldn't use it

I feel the same about my Tesla but it never gets used by me so why shouldn't it give the same pleasure to someone else as it did for me.

Hmmmm......

I can't go through another heartbreak like last time. I need an unscented Woodvil. :)

Jif, I have two Woodvils that had come from the last run. One is walnut and the other is zebra. They both have the clearcoat and neither has the smell or taste of the finish. So maybe these two woods resist it? I got them off the classies and can't vouch for how they were brand new. Both were lightly used :)

Thanks, momma.

I have noticed the scent of the poly on new wood REO's. I have never had it show up in my vapor, or the taste.

Usually after a couple of weeks it is gone.

But I do understand that for some people very sensitive to smells they might be turned off by the odor. Also I understand that what I do not sense as a off odor may be very off to others.

I think that must be taken into consideration when buying anything wood.

With REO's I think your best option is to buy a "natural finish" with just an oil that you KNOW does not bother you.

Is anyone having the same dilemma that I am? Woodvil or Resin mod? I know that I can get both, of course. However, if it's one or the other......which to choose from?

I appreciate the wood more and i know it will probably enjoy the wood more than the resin, however, when I bought two VV Woodvils back in 2012, I could not get the smell and taste of wood out of my Bubinga and Rosewood mods. I did the wax inside and out. I did the coffee grinds trick for a week or two. Nothing got the taste of wood out of my vapor.

I'm going to have to make a judgment call since these two mods are llikely to be due out around the same time.

What are you all going to do? Woodvil, Resin or both?

Jif, I'm going resin only. I hope to get the Burl with holes(hint hint Oh Great ONE). Might have to wrestle someone for it. Got to tell him I'm bringing a Beretta to a wrestling match tho!! LOL

I will wait to make my decision after the final pics are up. Type of wood/finish is important to me as well as the Resin color. I was set on two woods but now I expect one of each is in order.

I keep telling myself not to go crazy like the last run but unfortunately I make no promise.

Excuse me while I go make some computer upgrades.

Wait a minute... no one said anything about firearms!

Guess I'll just have to drive up to Maine and appropriate the mod before it's even available ;-).

Rob sounds like you might be robbed.....I will head your direction and protect you. All I ask in return is a bit of resin in the shape of a mod preferably.

During the last Woodvil sale talk of smelly mods came up and Rob did mention that he'd switch to different oil for the natural finish mods, all of mine are natural from the last sale I noticed no smell. Also you will need to protect natural finish wood with ether more oil or a wax, each product can have different smell and that will be the dominate smell on the mod. Mine now have a slight smell of bees wax and oranges :D

Thank you I was going to say something but you beat me to it . I dont recall anyone from the last run complaining about the mods retaining a oil smell . I am using another system this time and I dont see it being a issue

Yeah I should have been more clear, the talk was about older mods and not the last sale and that for the last sale you were using a different oil base than in the past.
