If they are new and you're going cartos, I'd just get the bloog kit. I never really dug the 510 cartos (I'm sure they are better now tho), but the bloogs are solid, plus it's small like a cigarette, so it's an easy conversion.

I've got like 3-4 new vapers using them now, everyone loves them.

Just my 2 cents.

check out the setup at phatclouds.ca they have 1100 mah batts with cartos and a cone. awesome price and the best price on cartos in canada. my bud just bought 2 kits for a friend today. an 1100 mah battery lasts a heavy vaper all day. I'm using the tank and Paul just emailed me he has updated the cap part so even easier to fill, though it's easy now. 3 ml lasts most people all day too. just tossing it out there.

yes at least 1000mah x 2 so you can use one while the other one is on the charger . I have two in rotation but wanted a blue one so I ordered it when I got the ego booster which is waiting for me to pick up as we speak . Too bad I have to wait until monday to pick it up though I hate missing a friday delivery :(. I only take egos to work my provari stays at home and the occasional evening out . I need one 1000mah battery to use at work and a second one as a backup . Now with the booster which lowers the charge faster I could still use the two 1000mah batteries and would need them both but I would want a backup as well or one to be on the charger while I am using the other two . I can kill a normal 1000mah ego battery in 8 to 9 hours the way I vape . Just barely enough time for when I leave the house and do a full days work and then return to the house . I ran out an hour before the end of the shift a while back and my backup battery wasn't charged like I though it was so I had to wait over an hour to get home and vape again . Poor me :)

The volt is cheaper than the bloog. I have the volt here and it is easy as pie. I just got my friends started on the volt, 29 year smokers. I would not mess with an ego if they are first time vapers, they will have a hard time and be disappointed.

The volt is sold here in Canada at Best Vapour, Canada

An ego is stage two or is it three in the natual evolution of a typical vaperer . After that you're into mods . The volt might be stage two I don't know I skipped that stage but if you like it then that is the one for you . More than that won't be more satifiying just maybe longer battery time or some other advantage but the vaping will be the same . But don't forget he who dies with the most toys wins .

I didn't 100% quit smoking till I got an Ego, the little one's battery would die all over the place ever few hours and I'd have a smoke. I bypassed the 510(types) all together but a friend of mine(female) used the 510 to quit analogs and stuck with it even working beside me and watching me on my ego. She just had a USB charging case and a couple extra batteries.

I'm still thrilled with my ego. The mega batt can last me all day while at work (not quite perfectly free to puff as often as a weekend). But I will say this, I do actually really like also having the 650s as they are very compact and still provide a lot of mileage. I also like how they are much smaller for my pocket while in the office. I actually just ordered a new 650 as my mega is a couple of months old, but my two little ones are almost four months old.

Regardless, I think it's a great starter PV with tons of functionality.

That 650 mah doesn't look so small with an EMDCC on it :) looks like a little cigar, but hits like a champ!

We started with a joy 510, then a couple of 1300 echo's. Could not believe the difference. In battery life and taste. Then Tony at cropduster 901 gave us an ego 650 mah. It was a manual battery. The echo's are on holidays right now. Discovered dripping, and seem to get a better hit with the button. Lasts most of the day but does not take long to charge. Good luck with your choice
