Mega Tornado over heating atomizer

I've been using a regular Tornado (ego) battery for a few weeks now and just got myself a mega battery. The regular battery seems to work wonderfully with my atomizers producing a thick, rich, and tasty vapor. My new mega batt overheats my LR atomizer and the vapor production is terrible. I'm assuming the issue is with the battery, when I switch back to the regular batt the LR atty still preforms wonders.

Is the battery putting out too high a voltage and should I exchange it?
Or is this something I, at home, can fix? I/e: a bad contact between battery and atomizer?

*I'd have this is the technical forum, but I don't have enough posts to do that yet *

well your only one post away from being able to post anywhere. :)
technically LR atty is designed for a 3.7v battery mod to simulate 5v's and not really for a traditional mosfet battery due to the amperage they draw. LR draws about 2-2.5 amp and standard atty about 1 which is what mosfet bats are designed for. I know they say min of 450 mAh, but it will still stress a mosfet bat.

When fully recharged batteries are first used they tend to be a few ticks above regular operating voltage. By way of example, a 14500 battery will run at 4.2-ish volts for a while before dropping to a 3.7v. When I toss fresh batteries in any of my devices, I just hold the button down for less time at first while keeping my draw about the same. After a while, the battery settles into it's normal operating voltage and I hold the button normally. As it continues to drain, I hold it longer. It takes a little getting used to.
