This is something that has been on my mind for a while, as my Totally Wicked Tornado tank atomizer is starting to feel a bit different with only 2.5 days of moderate use :glare:... I have another one on its way and am very worried about them not lasting long enough to keep me away from the analogs..

So to the question.... Which Atomizers/Cartomizers last the longest???? and preferably which would work with my Tornado (ego) batteries?
(I have 2 mega 1000mAh and 1 regular 600mAh batteries)

Any advice would be amazing =) :rickroll:

on average, the one in the hands of a skilled vaper

LR attys are most likely to die prematurely, especially LR attys stressed by improper use

LR cartos are the ones most likely to be singed by failing to keep the coil area damp (due to too thick juice or user error)

So my guess is the longest lasting would be the coolest vaping highest ohms item you can use on your Tornado. But that is probably not what you want.

I can get 10+ days of good use out of a Boge cartomizer using thin clear juices (about 2ml per day). But I am using standard resistance (3 ohms) on 3.4 and 3.7v batteries (Tornado is 3.4v) so I am not getting a lot of heat (though I do get nice flavor, with a better vape on 3.7v)

Note - I also avoid all juices that drop flavoring sediment (typically very dark or cloudy juices). That sediment clogs cartos, ruining the drag and vapor production, gunking up the coil. They also gunk up atomizer coils decreasing the flavor, drag and vapor production (which can then be stressful for the atomizer because you may overuse it to get a good drag and the coil may get too hot due to the layer of gunk insulating it from fresh liquid).

Hi Jake,

I've found atomisers to be the most temperamental - some just lasting a few days, others weeks. With Cartos, I've found most dual coils to last about a week & the Boges several days, but as they are so much cheaper than atomisers, I'm happy with that :)

In a house...
Not to thread jack, but when you guys say that you get X amount of time out of them, are you saying at that point they stop working? Maybe I'm a cheapo (no maybe, I AM a cheapo), but I bought a pack of 5 SmokTech dual coil LR carto's and I've used the same one so much that the paper is actually starting to wear off of it...it still works and has probably been in use for close to 3 weeks or so. I don't vape heavy heavy, but it gets used. I primarily use DK fruit juices (no dark stuff)

Honestly, I've never had one die, so I'm wondering if you guys are saying that it just doesn't taste the same and you toss it, or if it literally pops the coil and dies on you.

Thanks!

A lot of people don't have your luck with atty's and carto's , but a few of us do . My wife and I have been rotating the same 20 carto's for almost 3 months now . We use them , until they start to clog up , then either I use them on a higher voltage PV , or we clean them , let them dry , and use them again .

Everyone made a lot of good points. It really does depend on what you are using, type if juice, etc. I use the ressurector cartos and normally get about 2 weeks out of them before the airflow starts to become restricted so I switch. I've never actually had one stop working. The longest I've gone is about 5 and a half weeks on a single ressurector before I replaced it. Generally higher VG juices will cause a carto to clog quicker, but I find that the biggest thing that ruins cartos is juice with sediments, like dormouse was talking about. I use a 80% pg juice that has sediments in it and a 85%vg juice that doesn't have sediments. Even though the VG juice is much thicker, the 80% pg juice clogs my ressurectors A LOT quicker because of the sediments

My first post I did say I got over a week, but that was when it didn't hit as good, it does still work, and compared to an atty, still better, so to answer one question, no, I haven't actually had one literally die on me, if I clean it well, it will prob be almost like new again. Just too lazy to do that when I have 4 new ones in line waiting to be used heheh.

Some very good infomation here. See with my old stuff when I used the mini PV devices I use to get allot more time (I think) out of the atomizers, but I think as soon as we step up to the more advanced as you can say PV device the attys last less time (probs as we use it more:p)
I have some 100% VG comming soon and I am hoping it does not clog my stuff up, but I think what would be best as a trial is to use some old kit I have to see what the texture comes out like....

I've been using interdental brushes to bring my Ego Mega Dual Coils back from icky-tasting... a little liquid and gently getting the black out... An occasional rinse with filtered water. A little care and these cartomizers can last months. Depends on the liquid, too, I find, some dirty up the inside more than others.

I'm personally a huge fan of SmokTech anything. I use their cartos and clearo - DC and SR - they all perform very well and last days with proper care and topping off. I'm lazy - use them until I just can't use them anymore (about 2 weeks maybe?) toss and go for a new one. I use drip tips to keep which flav juice is which - cap them with a condom when not in use - works for me so far! Good luck in your carto search - I blazed through a ton of stuff to find my sweet spot.
