Yeah, the button is hard (didn't know there was a soft one). You say you knew what was happening so you were careful. What do you mean?

Sorry, the plastic button edge on mine would stick under the hole. So I would use my finger nail to un hook it each time I vaped so it didnt get left on and burn my cartomizer up. Not sure if yours is the same problem.

The Riva an eGo clone has a rubber button. I had several of these also and never had the same problem.

The following chargers will FRY a real correct Ego or 510

Blu, FS510 - reverse electrical polarity
(and there is at least one reverse polarity clone Ego called Ego-J or something like that)

510-T - this charger can fry anything other than a 510-T auto battery.

(And real Ego chargers can damage slim 510 batteries)

Only charge batteries on their correct charger.

And I also recommend for Ego, you only buy Joye or Janty brand (i.e. real Egos) and not buy clones unless the clone is known to be correct polarity and has some special feature you want (like the 3-stage 3-voltage "Ego" at Gotvapes - those are OK)

Sounds like the charger was the culprit but I don't feel that was my fault since the Vaporescence guys knew exactly what I have. I'll go by and talk with them on Saturday.

Not that they matter but here are the details of the setup.......

When I initially came to them I was using this one.

USB Rechargeable Menthol Electronic Cigarette - Rechargeable Cigarettes

Can't seem to find the exact charger they gave me for the one with the ego passthrough on the Vaporescence website but this picture looks like it. Also got the wall charger that the USB plugs into from them.

Joye eGo-T USB battery/passthrough - thebestecigshop

Couple of days later bought the eGo that doesn't have the passthrough needs to be charged where the threading is - how did they think I was going to charge this thing if you aren't supposed to mix chargers?

That's why I used the connector from the first kind I had and plugged the USB into the wall charger I got from Vaporescence.

Howdy from just around the corner in McKinney. Sorry to hear of your troubles. I charge my eGo batts on my USB charger, but I NEVER leave them while charging, and NEVER EVER allow them to charge overnight. The minute...actually the second I see that light turn green, it's off the charger.

Let me know if you need anything...I'd be glad to help.

If you go to the McKinney trade days each month off of 380 there is a guy there that sells juice for $5 for 10ml bottles. It's 100% PG - not sure if that is an issue for you.

Anyway, his flavors seem to be a bit smoother than the stuff I've gotten at Vaporescense. Thought you'd want to know. Here's the guys website. https://thebigvapor.com/store/

Yea, I've been there. I DIY my own juice, but I might just go support him as well. Thanks!

I, too, am glad you are okay! And I hope you can sort it out and get back to vaping.

This is actually one of my biggest fears. When I was a kid, and NiCad batteries were the rechargeable standard, I had one explode in my bedroom and I'll never forget the sound/smell/fear. The baking pan idea is brilliant...I currently charge mine using an exterior all-weather outlet in my backyard, surrounded by nothing but concrete.

Yes, I'm also one of those people that unplug nearly everything before leaving the house. But I digress...
