Yep and the bridge crosses the other way...if that makes any sense.

White thing underneath and Cart -- this way
Foil/mesh bridge | that way

The cart filler is going to touch the bridge and may singe a bit depending on what you use. I use this and it does not melt and wicks better than anything else I've tried. Marineland Bonded Filter Pads at PETCO

I have been lurking this forum (not the newbie forum but e-cigarette-forum in general) for a few months and read a lot of posts on how to place the cart correctly on the mod and the few posts that i did read were TERRIBLE at explaining how to match it up, I could have sworn they were talking about the aluminum part , not the white

Thank you so much for the help. This forum is a great place, great community of helpful people.

All the fillers should have contact with the bridge or you'll get a horrid burning taste which means no juices are reaching it - a too dry bridge will burn the filaments inside and will ruin it (the only way then to fix it is to remove all the filaments which makes the atty pretty much useless unless you drip exclusively). WHen the bridge makes contact it makes itself a little nest in the top of the filler and the vaporisation of juice can discolor the filler material, but it shouldnt singe or burn. The discoloration usually comes from the coloring in the juice, not being burnt by the bridge (Ive not seen this happen with plain PG - you get the indentation mark but no discoloring).
You *can* however melt the end of the carts if your atty gets super hot (mine get very hot, and Ive melted a few cart ends and I drip I dont use any filler) - but you dont inhale anything, it just shrinks back on itself. I slice a tiny piece off the bottom (cart end obviously, not mouthpiece lol) and it wont happen again.
Its good you asked, Im sure there's at leat one other person out there who was wondering lol.

I've been using fingernail stickers on the cart and atty to keep them lined up without having to look down inside the atty every time I top off. I line them up once and then stick a sticker on each, lining the stickers up, and then all I have to do is make sure they line up when I put it together the next time. It's so much easier, especially when it's kind of dark.
