Honestly, I would have rather had another atty sleeve thrown in for waiting so long. Not much into incense as my "smoke" days have been over for a very long time. (I don't mean cigs either. thats what incense use to be used for. LOL)

I see your point, but we cant do that, as every atomiser sleeve has been magically forged using a specially 256 bit encrypted gamma key you only get if you answer the black wizards three questions correctly.

*cough*

I am sure this will sound dumb. I don't want RY4 and it comes with 5 carts of it. How/ What do I buy to put my own flavors I would like in it? Please don't just say blanks. I would need to know which blanks. Thanks.

And has anyone tried to drive using this beast? ;) What I mean to ask is how heavy are they?

Do we know what the batteries will cost?

Hey Rachel

No question is dumb!

Let me try to answer you on these things, if i understand you correctly!

Im assuming you are not too familiar with the concept of the e-cigarette yet, so i will explain some basics here!

For the flavor of the carts, you can try to contact the shop that you bought the eGo at, and ask to have another flavor put in - i dont know if they are able to change it, but i think most shops will have no problem with this!

As for how to put your own in, there are two ways of doing this.

One method is dripping, -this involves removing the filling material from any cart you insert - and dripping 2 to 3 drops directly onto the atomizer, then insert the empty filter on top, and simply vape until the flavor / vape is going away - then take out filter, redrip and rinse process. Look at Parked's video, - he is doing just that in there!

The advantage of doing this is that the flavor is often better and more tasteful.

The other method is using cartridges. You can buy a package of 5 cartridges from the shops, in any flavor and strength combination you want. Lets say for this example you buy cappucino. You would then insert your cappucino filter, and vape on it till you think the taste goes away, or it begins to taste a bit dry. You then take out your filter, and then you drop as many drops as you can onto the top of the filling material in the cart, till it is soaked again ( but not running with liquid ) and then reinsert it and continue vaping.

So this method requires you to a) buy 5 carts with some flavor and b) to buy a bottle of liquid in that same flavor ( again available in shops )

Furthermore the filling material inside the filters can be washed. If you buy a 5 pack of filters in say cappucino taste, and you smoke those but get tired of them, you can take out the filling material in one, wash it under lukewarm water and then press the filling material against a kitchen roll of paper or something to dry it out, and once it is dried out you can then insert it into the cartridge, and fill it up with the liquid you have bought in a bottle, by dripping onto it, until it cant hold anymore liquid.

As for how heavy this is, it weighs about the same as a full bottle of 10 ml liquid. It is not very heavy at all! When i drive i usually open the ashtray in my car ( which is not being used for anything ) and i put it in there - this way it never rolls around or gets lost, and when i want to smoke i pick it up, smoke and put it down. I CAN bite on the filter and have it sit there in my mouth, but i wouldnt recommend it for a long period of time. However, the eGo produces alot of vapor, and alot of taste and has a good throat hit, so the need for constant "pulsing" on it, in my eyes atleast is not that big. I pick it up, take a good drag and put it down. Rinse and repeat.

The battery cost, as a replacement is still unknown, however there is a warranty on the unit when it is bought, and there are 2 batteries in the set you purchase as a standard!

Hope this helps you out a bit!

/Mik

I dont understand... When they say overnight and charge 31 $, why it will take 3 days.
(order on Friday 6 Pm -- receive the shipment on Tuesday after paying 31 $$ ???)
Whats the difference between the ordinary ground shipment and overnight shipping -- i still dont understand ??

I think you will have to speak with the shop you might do this from.

Ill ask Ethan to come clarify this, for the USA shop!

Iffy question. Preface. My wife works for FedEx. I have shipped/received a few hundred packages from Fedex/UPS.

If you order at 6PM Friday your vendor may not have time to get your order to the shipper before cut off time. Might not ship until Monday so Tuesday. If it is shipped Saturday (above and beyond, everybody should get a day off no matter how desperate you might be.) then Monday.

Quick question. Anyone has done overnight order before on Janty..? . if i order for overnight shipping paying $ 31.50 and have the order on Friday evening 6pm when will i get my shipment ??

The store would be Janty because no other that I am aware sells it yet. And is it the Dura size Carts (I assume they are different sizes). And I never saw how easy it is to access the carts, in the demo he dripped.

Well I ordered two 2nd day air today, and asked for green apple and polar mint to be in the carts at Medium strength in my comments (also noting one of us is allergic to chocolate and that would not be a good substitution).

I really hope I do not get tobacco flavor. I hate tobacco flavors. I know odd right? I tried to mask it by smoking cloves, which are now illegal. Sigh. If I do then I will have to figure out in a hurry if these take Dura size carts. And I will be in nicotine withdrawal. Great.......

Scylla, I have to totally agree and support you here. If the JS is designed only for people with strong hands and full dexterity then its not for me either.

I have Arthritis, and can only manage a certain amount of dexterity, and the ability to get the original atomiser out without force was impossible for me. And like you I was panicing as I just couldnt get it to budge !

Yes I also realise that we need not be taking out the atomiser constantly, but as I too was getting mouthfulls of juice I knew there was something wrong.

Now I didnt do an awful lot of Science back in my school days, which was a longggg time ago...lol, but I have a fair bit of life experience, and the common sense I was born with, did tell me, that if I have a shaft, which is polished to give it a smooth finish, and I have at atomiser that is of the same dimensions, but not polished, resistance is going to follow, is that not a common sense conclusion?

So I had ordered a spare atomiser, a Titanium finish, so I tried that one, and yes it went in fairly easily, although I agree it does wobble slightly, but that wobble does not, currently cause any lack in power connection.

I have now watched Parked video, and no doubt it is true that with force you can make any atomiser fit. I WONT nor CAN do this. Does this make me wrong? Does it mean my needs shouldnt be catered for? of course it doesnt.

I am sure that Ludo will read through these posts, look at the comments made by everyone and say to himself, well the prototype has in general gone down well, but we need to look at several features, including the atomiser fit, and the body shell which should be made of metal.

They already plan to make the switch a spare part, so thats ok.

And maybe the connector within the holding shaft does need to be deeper to ensure a good connection at all times.

But this is a prototype as all first editions are, and lets face it, in general do we love the JS? Hell, yes we do....

Christena:

I have severe arthritis, joint problems, brittle bones from osteoporosis, and other problems associated & exasperated by lupus (SLE) and Sjogren's disease in addition to being somewhat of a tomboy growing up. I climbed boulders & mountains, I repelled down buildings several stories high (birth father was an electrician & I learned early how to do his job even tho' he was a functional alcoholic as well as an abusive man), road motorcross dirt bikes, went diving (on o2 tanks & scuba gear w/o tanks), etc... I was somewhat of an adrenaline junkie. I've broken so many bones over the years that my orthopedists during those childhood/teenage years often told me I would suffer a lot of pain when I was older. He didn't know that not only was I breaking bones from my personal activities but my birth father had a hand in a few of those cracked bones & fractures....but I digress...

The worst problem I deal with these days other than the pain from arthritis is opening jars, closing jars, opening child-proof bottles, which my 12yo opened for me until I finally remembered to have my pharmacist use non-child-proof bottle lids. I've been fighting lupus & Sjogren's as well as arthritis for so many years that it sunk in deep for our girls to stay out of my medications and their dad's since he is a juvenile diabetic & insulin dependent in addition the need for high blood pressure medication and medication for tachycardia. The situation with DH became worse in January/February 09 after suffering 2 heart attacks, a stroke, & quad bypass. The girls just KNOW better. It's the same with our firearms. They simply KNOW better than to touch them without permission.

I've learned that with the Janty Stick atomizers it is easier to screw the atty into the unit by wearing a rubber-style Playtex glove or a latex hospital/doc's office glove. I use the latex gloves anyhow to apply Frontline anti-flea and tick medication to my guide dog's back from the top of his head all the way down his back until reaching the end of the torso just before the tail. This prevents him from licking at it as it can be dangerous, esp until dry.

Those latex gloves are available for a dime a dozen in most places but you can get the Playtex gloves and keep a pair specifically for adding or removing the attys for the Janty Stick. It works wonders for me. I add the filled cart last - after placing a few drops of e-liquid in the bottle of the atty.

I hope this helps you. Please forgive my rambling. I'm fighting against what I hope is the last infection brought about by the H1N1 flu. After fighting the flu and the infections brought on by it for some 3+ months, it's nice to feel as if I am coming out of the illness. Not only are the infections aggravating and take so much out of me, they also trigger lupus flares from h$ll.

Give the gloves a try. I think you will find they work. BTW, as for jars, always pop your hand against the bottom of the jar to release pressure in the jar. If necessary, lightly tap the lid around in a circle on the corner of the counter top then pop the bottom again before using a rubber gloved hand to open the bottle. It helps tremendously, even with arthritic hands.

Hey guys.

I DO understand your frustrations, and i hope you understand that we are frustrated too.

We have had several weird issues around the eGo, which is why it shipped so late.

One of our issues is that we had an engineer quit the factory and join a competitor (!) a few days before the eGo was completely ready - and when he left, he took his programs with him. So.. we had a delay there cause we needed to reprogram the eGo - thanks engineer-guy. =/

Then we had the issues of the postal service - it seems there are alot of stuff being held in customs lately, which means we had to ship out our batches in multiple different batches to avoid them being held, and we needed to investigate how to do this, and this is now also solved.

So - yes, it might always happen with preorders, but we did put up a "We might not be able to deliver these before Xmas" because.. well it was uncertain!

As for the pouches, they are a gift, and not ment as anything else. If the pouches come to us before the eGo, we send out the eGo to you guys as-is, and then on your next order you can get the pouches. If they arrive with the eGo's we will ofcourse send them in the pouches.

All in all, you _will_ get them, and i really hope you will find them well worth the wait, - i myself dont have a final version yet and im looking _so_ much forward to it, as i use my ego over any device i have ( and i have what....25 ? )- it has just become my personal, private, favorite - and not because i designed it - because i really do love it to pieces!

So - im here, waiting with you and the second i hear any news, i will be the first to post that they are on their way.

But personally, i dont think they will make it for Xmas - not as things have been - and i would advice you all to adjust to that as well - better to be pleasantly surprised, than to be disappointed.

And hey - if we have to look at the positive side, that means if you get crappy Xmas gifts, atleast you get one gift after Xmas, you know you will love eh :D

Anyways - Keep the faith guys! And enjoy your holiday season!

/Mik

Hey

Its not possible really, the whole stick is integrated so only a few of our customers would be able to change the body themselves without ruining anything - and that means it would be a big expense for us to actually do so.

In the new versions in 2010, we might do different bodies, to the JS XL, that can be exchanged though!
