I ordered my first ecig nearly a month ago. It's an RN 4081, and while it was enough to convince me that I can get off the analogs, the battery power and performance would clearly not cut it. I carefully researched the models and decided that a 510 with a PCC would be my best bet, keeping the 4081 as backup. Then I researched the distributers. I wanted to go with Wicked initially and exchanged several emails with them, then found that I could get more of what I wanted from the Janty kit + PCC (Wicked's kit didn't come with two manual batteries and they had no extras in stock to order).

Before I ordered from Janty I looked at this forum and took note of the complaints. It seemed that they had a mysterious ordering system that made people nervous and that, consistently, those who complained were quickly appeased when their orders arrived on schedule and they were happy with the product. As someone above stated, I figured these people were just whiners. I figured I understood the ordering system from reading the accounts here, I have some patience, I'll be fine.

So I put in my order for the Dura-C kit. I followed the instructions carefully, put only the order number in the Paypal email subject, then in the body of the email asked that they notify me of any delays.

From the timing of others' orders I figured I would receive my order on Wednesday. When it didn't arrive in Wednesday's mail I sent an email kindly asking about the status. On Thursday (yesterday) somebody in this forum pointed out that the Dura-C kit was now listed as shipping June 4. I still had no response from Janty and no notification of delays as I had requested. I sent a second email stating: "Resending in the hope that you might pay some attention to me. What is the status of this order? Is my shipping delayed until June 4?"

Today, I finally received a response to my inquiry that originated one week ago, confirming that, yes, it was delayed but they hoped June 4 was the very latest date and they expect to get it to me sooner.

So, now I'm one of the whiners. I'm over $200 in the hole on ecigs, while still spending as much as I ever did on analogs. I have no idea if or when my Janty order is going to ship, whether I should ask for a refund so I can order from another supplier, or if that's only going to cost more and take longer in the end. I see Janty's various representative responding to people's forum posts all week while my emails sit in their inboxes ignored for days even though they must have known they were out of stock shortly after I placed my order. At times it seems like Janty doesn't respond to complaints until they are published in this public forum.

Dumwaldo is correct. They need to be honest about their capabilities. When I placed my order it said it would ship in 1-3 days, with most orders going out the next business day. It took longer than that to even be told they were out of the product. If the site had said 5-7 business days, I'd be happily waiting for my Dura-C. As it is, I'll probably be waiting it out, smoking analogs, and hoping they ship well before June 4. I would love to one day be praising Janty's customer service, as I made a point to do in the forums when SmokeStik handled my battery replacement so quickly, but so far they've only disappointed.

Edit: Sorry about the initial formatting. I was copying & pasting on my way out the door.

well I gave it a shot using the small straw from my canned air spray straw and I think it worked, i was able to put in like 11 or 12 drops of liquid but . . as i have never filled a completely dry cart up from bone dry to saturated I dont know how many drops im supposed to be able to get into a 510 cart without using this mod. I did notice however that as soon as the liquid hit the filler it sucked up the liquid like a vacuum cleaner and kept screaming for more. In my days of filling my 801's I've never seen the filler suck up liquid like it just did with this mod. Does this sound like I did it right ??

:oops:I think they should build the website a little better and not let you order stuff that they don’t have
I just checked the site for a dura c and it says shipping on the 4th and from my past experience with them I think this means they will get some on the 4th not shipping to you on the 4th
I have had good experience with them in the past but they have grown larger and are having problems keeping up

my bad you posted before I did:oops:

I think you are fine. It is obvious to most thinking folks that if there is a date listed, then that is the date you are shipping. When I placed my order for the Stick I saw the date listed and it was obvious that it was the shipping date.

Don't let the nitpickers bother you............

Yes, the date listed was 5/19/09. That was two days ago and your product has still not shipped and likely will not ship for another 5 days.

You might think a 7 day delay is acceptable but some of us are no so complacent with being lied to.

There was no date listed when I ordered my DuraC but they still took the order on an item they did not have in stock. It took five days till my product was shipped and 7 days after my order I finally got this e-mail...

"I apologize for the delay, we were awaiting our new shipment of Dura-C's which arrived a few days later than expected, we now have them in stock and are shipping out sets. I apologize for the inconvenience and delay. I will get your order packed up and shipped asap."

Taking order for items that are not in stock would get any other supplier on these forums panned to death.

BTW
Contrary to the claims of others, the only free extra I ever got from Janty was the padded shipping envelope. I am very curious to see if any consolatory extras are included with the Stick.

Personally I've been very happy with Janty so far. They have been helpful and stand by their product. The Dura-c was my third try at the personal vaporizer and is currently the only one that I smoke. I had been taken by Smoking Everywhere for a truly disappointing product that cost me over $200. Then had another product eat half my mustache as the battery shorted out.

With the Dura I am it has been almost two months and I'm still on my first atomizer. It works, I like it, and I'm hardly ever smoking tobacco anymore. So for product quality these guys are a ten.

Granted it took me two days to get anyone to contact me before I bought their product and that was annoying. However once they did, Jeff at jantyusa was knowledgeable and more helpful and pleasant to talk too then he had to be. So yes the customer service is slow, however it, like their products, is great when it gets there.

What all this tells me is that they are keeping their staffing low in order to keep their costs down and thereby keep my cost down.

Personally all I really care about is getting my product and that it works well. I'd rather wait 200% longer to pay 50% less. I'd also rather have slow customer service that is effective then fast customer service that is annoying and doesn’t get the job done.

Just my opinion but aside from needing to be absolutely transparent about stock levels and shipping dates these guys seem to have the best product going. Personal Vaporizers are not completely new, but the greater demand for them is. It will take some time to adjust, redesign their web site and get ready for the new level of sales.

Give these smaller companies the time to learn and adjust and I think you'll be pleased with the results. I've run my own companies in the past and have had a few "OH Shoot" moments. My response was the same as theirs, contact the client, apologize, and try to keep them in the loop while you solve the problem as quickly as possible.

And because I know that while most of you have given up the smoke, but kept the flame close at hand. No I don’t work for anyone in the PV business. I won’t till I develop a self dripping model with all day battery life. I’m thinking hydraulics’ and one of those wind up flashlights for power….

Actually, check the Janty site out again. (If you possibly missed, or didnt pull down the window by chance)

If you are purchasing multiples it seems they are even cheaper. :)
If you chose to order and add on two (Granted that it was okayed) it should come to $5.20 USD. Its $3.20 for only the first battery purchased. Its only $2.00 for each additional.
I just tried that... uhuh; same $3.20 each no matter how many I add to the cart

The Janty Stick has a really good price point IMHO but the DuraC is not.

DuraC @ Janty - $58.95

JoyE 510 @ electronicstix - 47.50

JoyE 510 @ eastmall - $43

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I fully expect that I will be pleased with the product when and if it arrives, but if they do not hear our complaints, they will have no reason to believe they must improve and it is clear from many of the discussions here that they must.

When I read any kind of online review or complaint I take it with a grain of salt. There are plenty of people out there who are lying, nuts, inept or simply impatient. But when you see the same complaints time and time again, there are issues that need to be addressed. It is clear that plenty of people have had great experiences with Janty, but those experiences should be dependent on great service, not great luck.

It took Janty a full week (and three contacts from me) after my order to inform me that they are out of stock on the product that was listed as in stock when I ordered it. I would like to have been one of the lucky ones so I could be as dismissive of complaints as some forum members are here (not aimed at you, MrBrown).

All our good customers are being taken care of :D

btw, when you post price comparison, you might also want to explain why the price difference, such as our 6 MONTH WARRANTY compared to the others!

Try be a bit more honest and thorough in the future and you might get accepted to our "good customers" list ;)
