I'm thinking about buying a Merlin Mini. I've been looking at a lot of RBAs (this'll be my first), and this one has a lot of things going for it, on paper at least. I love the single/dual coil options, the airflow control, the size is nice cause my mod is a brick. I've heard really good things about the flavor, too.

If you have one, please chime in. I am looking for as much info as possible about it (pros, cons, anything that comes to mind or you think I should know).

Specific questions I have: does it heat up when you run it with low ohms/high wattage? How low/high are we talking? How does the dual coil setup perform? I'm a bit more interested in that deck, but all I really hear about is people running it in the single.

Thank you SO much.

Did you ever run it at high W? Did it heat up too much? I'm really worried about that. And how do the two compare for flavor?

I'll definitely look into the Exo. I've heard good things, but I also just really love the aesthetics of the MM. And it comes in gold.

I don't mind the refilling, but the performance definitely matters. Hopefully I hear from some people who use the dual coil deck about that, but it's good to know about the single.

I have a Merlin Mini. The flavor is awesome. The single deck works well but I prefer the dual deck. The machining is excellent too. I have a dual Clapton at .3 ohms and 45 watts, it doesn't get hot on me at all at that level.

All that said, the biggest drawback is the 2 ml capacity. It doesn't bother me but if I'm primarily using just the MM, I have to fill it at least 4 times in a day.

Below is a picture of my MM next to an OBS engine. That's one you might want to consider too. 5.2ml capacity, easy dual deck, top airflow/fill and virtually leak proof.

The flavor is better on the MM but the engine isn't far behind.

The EXo single coil is fantastic Flavours , nice capacity , nice deck to build on , too i just preferred it the the merlin ,
I have several other rta,s that are dedicated Single coil rta,s ,
1st pic is my Supremes ..

for dual i like all of the Steam Craves , Supreme s 23mm lite 25 mm Limited edition, 30mm plus can be setup for single by installing the blanking plug on one side , Or dual / single vertical builds , just awaiting the new Supreme v2 25mm to arrive ,

These listed below work well with simple builds. 26g spaced SS 316L builds , can give some nice Flavourful vape clouds , can be chain vaped as well as being shut down for a more restrictive vape if required .

in 2nd pic ..

Exo Rta single deck
Hurricane v2
Taifun GTv3
Taifun GTv3 mini

3rd pic ..

Hussar RTA
SRv4 RTA

These are a more open DTL than say Kayfuns an KFv5 rta,s
Spaced SS builds for TC or V wattage
