Could someone from the ECA explain the logic behind this claim, I think it brings your integrity and credibility into question:

"... an electronic cigarette cartridge, depending on manufacturer and cartridge style, produces 0-16 mgs of nicotine when fully consumed by approximately 300 puffs. A recent industry study indicates the average electronic cigarette user takes 62.8 puffs per day. This suggests the average electronic cigarette smoker is consuming 3.36 mg of nicotine per day ..."
Electronic Cigarette Myths and Facts | Electronic Cigarette Association

The average amount of eliquid used per day is 2-3ml, not less than a cartridge (which could be 0.3-1ml) - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...cussion/2817-how-much-eliquid-do-you-use.html

16mg isn't the upper limit for strength, eliquid up to 48mg per ml can be bought.

300 puffs isn't what people usually get from a cartridge (0.3-1ml), less than 60 per ml is the usual apparently - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/6525-draws-puffs-per-ml.html

Could you provide a link for this please - "... recent industry study indicates the average electronic cigarette user takes 62.8 puffs per day .."

Thanks.

I think 16mg is going to be the regulated strength, but dont quote me on that...

What!? 8-o

Say it ain't so!

I'll be buying a lot of unregulated strengths then and the suppliers selling liquid that is higher than 16ml will be making all the money when it comes to juice sales.

it was discussed in chicago, I am unaware of any decision made on it though, the big concern is what will happen if a small child gets a hold of a bottle. If the FDA is going to regulate anything, it will be the liquid. Again I have no update on this at this time, but if you look at mast ECA members sites, they are not selling anything higher than 16mg.

Are you sure you aren't confusing 36mg and 16mg?

We had a discussion regarding posts on the forum that even some of the vapers thought that 36mg might be too high... 24mg would probably be the limit. But then again, testing would need to prove bottle sizes.

For example, you could have 24mg but it couldn't be in a bottle bigger than X ml. Or you could have 16mg in a bottle bigger than that.

But this is just an example.

No needs to get worried... we are going to figure out the best way to make this product as safe as possible and still offer the best quality experience. The ecig will fail if smokers cannot get the same experience (or better) than their tobacco.

I think you're saying that's what you think is on the ECA wishlist. What the ECA wants and what is finally regulated could well be different things.

Kate - I will find out for you.

Thanks very much Lacey.

I wouldn't like to see you getting influential reputations on board and then destroying their credibility by linking them with propaganda or misinformation.

Yes... no propaganda here as far as I am concerned. If we can't express ourselves with truth, then we are not better than some of the others.

Yes Kate, one of our concerns is safety. Nobody knows how things will be regulated, we will have to wait and see.

That's all I'd ever ask of anyone in authority - just give us the facts, good and bad and let us make our own minds up.

If we're linked with any bad science or opinion then we have less hope than the already established and supported antis.

Something really bad, especially if they are smoking analogs.

LOL..exactly!...its about personal responsibility versus the "nanny state" mentality....believe me, this isnt just about e-cigs, its about liberty and limiting the scope of govt. as well...this is really a constitutional no-brainer...im saying no to socialism in general.
