I think this is why it is imperative for us to know what brand of flavors they are using. If we are able to crosss-reference our previous dislikes and connect them to certain flavorings from certain brands, then we may not have to travel down that road twice. That would also free up our sense of adventure if we see a similar flavor that we previously disliked, but are able to see that the vendor does not use a a certain brand of flavoring. If you hate Perfumers Apprentcice, but don't know it, you will inevitably not know why certain separate vendors are both "creating" flavors that turn you off in the same way.

I agree. one thing I believe makes me not like a liquid is koolada. but that is just a guess on my part. there are some vendors who don't have any liquids I like and it seems logical that there is some common denominator. I think there is an (old) thread here that tries to figure out what some of us don't like.

This too, may be why vendors won't all tell us. Maybe they figure, "If they don't know, then we could get at least one purchase from them. They may like it, they may not, but at least we got 'em once!" A lot of one time purchases from a lot of people add up.

I'm new enough to vaping that I hesitated to comment but sometimes I gotta say what I gotta say.... FULL BOTTLES!

I've ordered from a dozen+ vendors and have seen this more than once. In the worst instance, I received one 30ml bottle that was only about half full with NO signs of leakage in the packaging. While we all make mistakes on occasion and I'm not accusing anyone of intentional shortages, this kind of mistake will make me change vendors.

The most recent experience is that I bought a sample pack and the bottles are all filled to various different levels. Maybe I got more of some juice than I was supposed to but the lack of consistency will be noticed by some customers.

Sorry to be a downer but I thought I should mention this. In the future I'll resolve this with the particular vendor but I'm hoping not to receive any more "partial" bottles.

Maybe it's just me and/or some bad luck(?) I've also experienced excellent customer service along with buying some awesome e-liquids!

What a novel idea! HA. They call that "business" on the streets. However, some vendors use bigger bottles to send out samples of certain lesser mL . It's kinda goofy.

I wondered if my lack of experience influenced my perception. Of course, I'm not complaining about free samples.... fill those halfway all you want. :D

I would like to know how you avoid nicotine poisoning in a large scale processing scenario

You should ask that in the DIY section, otherwise know as the Mr.Mann free forum. ;) I don't know about that stuff; my mother is the toxicologist but she does not know about nicotine in any other form other than the nightmares of her son smoking.

I see both sides to this topic.

It would be nice to know what base flavorings I do and don’t like, and be able to avoid them.
As I have purchased hundreds of dollars in e-liquid trying new flavors, most to just be sniffed and then tossed or give away. Only a VERY few were kept.

But, on the other side... Vendors have their “special” way of making their juices and knowing the base flavoring could in fact tell another vendor how to duplicate it. It has been done.
So I understand very well why a vendor would not tell anyone what their flavor base is. And with knowing this information, I would not ask.

Looks like I will just keep spending money to find one that fits me.

Thank you very much for this forum Mr. Mann!
I know the vendors that you are working with will and do find it very beneficial. And so do I!

The only way to know if a juice suits you is to try those that others like. That's only a hedge in the right direction, though. Some of the stuff other people love makes me a little aggravated when I order it and try it. It's a try and toss business with personal preference. That's why the PIF forum is so popular. There are lots of juices advertised where someone says they tried one carto full and decided it wasn't for them. Those who love it jump on it and trade something else for it. There's always a deal to be had for juices you know you like and a way to get the ones you hate to someone who likes them.

I would Never buy things from a site that required me to Create and Account before I could see what they have.

Heck, I don't even like to Shop a site Unless I can put an item into my Cart and then see my Shipping Options/Prices.

I'm not a time waster. I don't mind creating accounts on sites I *know* I'll be shopping at. But yeah, definitely will pass right by if I can't view your items.

Another new note:
Shipping prices. If you flat rate, mention so on your first page or side bar, somewhere and the base cost!
Obviously, this can't be done for calculated shipping.
Nothing sucks more than having to go through almost the entire checkout process to find out the flat rate thinking it might be calculated. Then realizing I should order more to even it out. Losing my cart because I haven't created an account yet and I ran out of time (had to run out of the house). ugh. Maybe I'm the only one on this. The cart loss can't be prevented except on my end, but certainly just listing your flat rate cost somewhere would be SO helpful!

Hi, great thread, thank you for putting it together. I too have spendt hundreds of dollar's on juice from many different vendor's. It really is hard at least for me to find juice that I like enough to have for an all day vape. I mean it has been 3 years of vaping and I am still looking, I only have about come across 4 juices that I can vape all day. What really has upset me is that I found a new juice vendor a couple of months ago, and have spendt a bit of money with them all ready trying out there different juice's. I was lucky that I found one that I really loved and have been using it as an all day vape.
Well I just recieved a new 30mil bottle just in time because I had just finished the last bit in my other bottle. Guess what, the vendor decided to change the recipe, and now to me it is unvapable, I tryed and I do not like it at all, I can not stand the smell either.
What makes them think that, it is ok to do this? So in other words if I am to try another juice of thiers and find I really love it, what does it matter? Three months down the road they may decided to discontinue that juice also. I did ask, well I really begged them nicely if they could please still sell this juice. It seem's that so far I am the only one that has given them any feed back so far and I do not count. They also dropped a couple of other juices all together, I personally thought that it was a pretty ....ty thing to do. Sorry for the bad language but it has me so mad.

I with you.

If I'm going to buy from a site and I know what the Shipping is going to be, creating an account is OK.

But what T's me off is when I got to a site, Battle thru a Barrage of 3rd Part Cookies, Place an item in the Cart, Fight off More Cookies and then have No Way to see the Shipping Cost Unless I Create an Account.

I don’t mind having to give a Site my e-Mail address when I Buy something.

But I don’t relish the Idea of getting a Junk Box Full of Spam because I had to give an e-Mail Address to a site who Charges $11.95 Shipping on a $7.95 Bottle of e-Liquid that I didn’t end up buying Anyway.

Packaging idea for small free samples.

I have seen backpackers make their own mini ampule/tube to carry small amounts of neosporin or other creams/gels/liquids. It takes needle nose pliers, a drinking straw, and a lighter. Cut a section of straw about 1inch. Tightly crimp one end flat with the pliers, apply lighter until you have created a seal. Fill the straw from the open end (this would hold less than a mil, but enough to do a drip test). Crimp and melt remaining end to finish sealing it. Tape or glue it to a paper card that has the flavor/nic/ratio etc printed on it.

This is small and flat enough to send in a regular envelope.

Suppliers can get sample tubes and 3ml bottles cheap by the 1000. I like the idea of including a sample of your choice with each bottle of juice ordered. Electronic Cigarettes, E-Liquids & eCig Accessories | Awesome Vapor does this. Sample packs are not a bad deal to try juices. You have to buy the pack, but you get a roughly comparable amount of juice in ml to what you would get in larger bottles, less the cost of extra packaging.

I'd like vendors who offer sample packs to give the option of choosing the flavors you'd like to sample. For example I pass up many sample packs because the vendor has chosen the flavors offered and 3 of the 5 or 6 flavors offered in the sample pack are flavors I would have no interest in so as a result I move on to a vendor that lets me choose the flavors I'd like to sample!

This. Like I was considering a halo sample pack, but neither of them have the two flavors I was most interested in (namely Belgian Cocoa and Bella Valente) and it's astonishing really because as near as I can determine it's the same 7ml bottles you can order seperately! I don't want to pay two more dollars to sample the stuff I want to sample.

I said screw this noise, it's highway robbery.

One more thing on the business cards: If you must send me a business card, at least have a discount code on it. I hate having to search for the secret discount code. If I already bought from you and/or give the business card to some who hasn't, a discount code printed on that business card would make it a little more valuable than just having the same info that is already on the bottle and the site.

I got precisely one business card from ec blend, with a discount code on the back (same one that's on the site, but still!) which i promptly handed to my mother in law so she can order some juice for my father in law because he liked the RY4 alot.

I know I've become a huge ec blends fangirl, but it seems they're covering most of the stuff mentioned in this thread. Each bottle is labelled clearly with a nice glossy sticker, clearly marked with size, nic, PG/VG ratio, a birthday (year and month at least), a "bottle id" and what appears to be a batch number. An ingrediants list, storage suggestion, and a nicotine poison warning (which I think vendors don't do enough of!)

Contrary to pbusardo's rant, though, they do have alot of options per juice. But each drop down has a preselection which I (and presumably a reasonable person) would assume is the recommendation. But they say often enough on the site to order small sizes (6ml for $2.50) of whatever concoction you think up before getting a larger size.

I think they balance well between relative noobs and those of us who are more adventurous.

At first read, it sounds to me like they aren't willing to work with their clientele. Did you prod them for the reasoning behind it? Like maybe the juice needs to steep a bit now or something? Sounds a bit arrogant on their part to me, but right now it's just hearsay. See what I mean?

Forgive me if this has already been said, but it would be SO nice to have a shipping calculator on many sites. So many make you "proceed to checkout" before you can see what the shipping costs will be, and for me shipping costs are very important in my decision to patronize a business. I hate having to go through the entire checkout process just to see what my shipping rates will be.

I consider vendors that have their stuff together the ones that I want to do business with time and time again. Those vendors mean business, and get mine. If they offer two choices of shipment methods, then that's fine with me. Most of the time it's very reasonable, which is in their 'business plan'. If their shipping rates aren't reasonable, which I have run into before, then the product/CS usually upholds that. Very few and far between as far as excessive shipping rates.

Bottom line, if you stick with a class act, more than likely you will be taken care of all the way around.
