Are you sure it was a voluntary action on their part to change the recipe? I only ask because in my almost 2 years of vaping, I have seen a few times where a flavor vendor made an exclusive contract with a specific juice vendor. That makes it so any other juice vendor who needed that specific flavor, would have to change the recipe to something else.

It doesn't seem like it would be that big of a deal, but many premium vendors have at least 5 flavorings in every juice, so even small variances can completely change the taste.

Well I just recieved a new 30mil bottle just in time because I had just finished the last bit in my other bottle. Guess what, the vendor decided to change the recipe, and now to me it is unvapable, I tryed and I do not like it at all, I can not stand the smell either.
What makes them think that, it is ok to do this? So in other words if I am to try another juice of thiers and find I really love it, what does it matter? Three months down the road they may decided to discontinue that juice also.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Thanks for starting this thread. I mentioned a similar idea elsewhere, and while I wasn't "flamed", the responses seemed to indicate I was asking for the Crown Jewels or National strategic security secrets to be revealed.

I'd like to see a label similar to a food product label that lists the ingredients in their order of proportion of content. Knowing where the ingredients came from, on-shore or off-shore, is another key part. Whether the are "natural" or "artificial" is another key. Glass bottles or plastic bottles is important to me, with glass being preferred. I simply don't waste any time looking at vendors with "cutesy" names, be real and supply some kind of description. Another item is customer service, I asked a vendor local to me a few of these basic questions and didn't even get an acknowledgement or reply. That one is off my short list.

The bottom line is that this is an unregulated consumable product, but it won't be forever. The total lack of information regarding its contents only adds fuel to the fire of regulation. I'm not asking for trade secrets, anyone that wants to DIY can probably duplicate any flavor out there anyway, so why is being honest and upfront such a difficult thing? Hostess, Entenman's, Drake's and TastyCake all seem to manage to do it, and their produicts are great junk food, far more popular that vaping liquids! I know more about the contents of the food I feed my dog than I know about the contents of the liquid I vape and inhale....something wrong here.

Wow, you have a Borebel? BIG DOG, man!

I think those food-like substances that you referred to are different in that they can employ different procedures and processes to get their end product--it's not merely a mix of ingredients. If you've ever watched the show Unwrapped, you'll see them tell you all the ingredients of the base but then the "secret process" cannot be revealed. The e-liquid vendors, for the most part, aren't doing much more than DIY on a large scale. So, a little drop of this in addition to fewer drops of that and voila! We have a proprietary mix.

He's only about 160 pounds. Now a Copperhead Boerboel is a big dog!

I know it's just a mix, but the bottom line is still the same, we're inhaling this stuff and trusting that everyhting is "fine". I just want to be able to know what I'm inhaling. Like I said, once you try a flavor, if you are a DIYer, you can probably duplicate it with some trial and error. Since most people don't seem to want to set up a mixing lab in their house, they buy premixed anyway. Heck, most liquid vendors don't even say "natural" or "artificial" flavors, let alone source their PG or VG. A little, non-specific, information would go a long way for most of us.

The majority of information that the vendor I use do give that info. However, it took me some time before I found said vendors.

And why were you there in the first place, zioDman? Kinda kidding, but just sayin' too.

Because sometimes I fall victim to the Compulsive Desire to Try a New Flavor e-Liquid solely based on the Others keep Saying about it.

Awhile back it seemed that every 10 posts I read said how Good Rice Krispy Treat (RKT) was. Was it a Coincident? Divine Intervention? Karma? A Repressed Childhood Memory? I dunno?

But I got it in my Head that my life would not be Complete until I got some RKT and tried it. But None of my favorite retailers offer it. So that Forced me to crawl out of my hole and search the ECF for RKT Retailers.

I know how Many Companies approach Shipping. Larger than cost Shipping for One Item to Dissuade Single item Purchases. With a Declining Scale to Break Even point for Multiple Items.

I have No Problem with this approach. As Long as I can See the Shipping Cost BEFORE I have to give my 5 Line info and an e-Mail address.

Forgive me if this has already been said, but it would be SO nice to have a shipping calculator on many sites. So many make you "proceed to checkout" before you can see what the shipping costs will be, and for me shipping costs are very important in my decision to patronize a business. I hate having to go through the entire checkout process just to see what my shipping rates will be.

I believe it has. But saying it again Never Hurts.

Sometimes Retailers need to hear a Suggestion from Many People so they know that it Isn't just the 2:00 AM Ravings of some Crack Pot strung out on Rice Krispy Treat e-Liquid.

Pretty funny thread.....The first guy wants to see pictures of the "mixing area".....Once the government gets involved in Vaping its all over..........What "do you think" some of these places "look like"???? More regulation, thats what we need......Let "sleeping dogs lie"........

What I think are thoughts. Vendors have shown "mixing areas" as you state, and I am happy to have seen. I am the "first guy" otherwise know as the op or original poster. Letting "sleeping dogs lie" is fine for you, but I do what I want to do and ask the questions that I want to ask from that which I spend my money. I am not the government and you are not the moral majority. I have the right to bring up concerns as I see fit, just as you do. If you take issue with the thread topic, start your own, please.

p.s. I don't quite understand the usage of your quotation marks. Did someone else say those words, or are you meaning to emphasize?

The 'first guy' you speak of actually is 'the government' of this thread. And the point of your post is? Just curious.

Wow. I don't recall seeing that one before. Nice. And that was back in 2010. Impressive.

Original air date: July 19, 2010. "Sleeping dogs lie," and confident vendors are transparent.

TBinAZ, I am not the government of the thread, I do volunteer work, or better yet, community service...like most of us do.

Perfect response, like the other one too. Industries that regulate themselves effectively are not usually invaded by the government unless there is tax money to be made. Not sure "we" can do anything about the tax part but we can work on the other part.
(Hope you enjoy the quote marks this time!):toast:
In the meantime, I need to get an order together for JC

@awsum140,

Did you check out any of those vendors yet? (From the pm.)

Yes, I did. I have emailed one and really don't expect a reply until Monday or Tuesday. Thanks again for that list, I'll keep on checking them out and, hopefully, will find one that has that "perfect" liquid for me.

constant state of confusion
I think my biggest one would have to be good descriptions and samples that aren't a buck a ml. I have been vaping for almost 2 years. I have in the last 6 months had to change my vaping choices. I have developed some lung issues (doc says probably from the chemo) and I can't vape the way I used to or the way I want to. I loved to vape bakery flavors and fruits with menthol and I could vape any PG/VG ratio I wanted to.
Now I can't vape any higher VG than 50% or my lungs get heavy. My beloved bakery flavors and menthol make me cough and wheeze. Some nic bases also cause me problems and some flavorings (for example TPA raspberry) I love to try new flavors and new vendors but if it has menthol in it, say so. Don't put some cutesy description that I have to decode to know whether I can vape it or not. Have some inexpensive samples that I can order to try your juice and see if your nic base is okay with me. I hate having to pay way more for a small amount. I have enough 15 and 30 ml bottles sitting here that I can't vape.
And if I email and ask about a certain flavoring or whatever, please just answer yes or no. I do not DIY, I do not want your secret formula. I just want to know if it will make me sick.

and a good description is NOT "a nice fruity blend, I dare you not to like it and see if you can guess what is in it."

and while vaping pretty colored juice is fun, I don't need your extra colors thank you. And this industry is being looked at closely. Please don't offer things like caffeine in my juice. If I want caffeine, I will get some coffee, I don't need it in my juice.

Time to throw out the shameless plug: The Vapor Room ....One of the ECF suppliers. I haven't seen them mentioned in this thread, but they provide a lot of what have been mentioned here. Free 15ml sample with the 1st order and 3ml sample with every order. You tell what you want to try in the comment section. Glass bottles(optional) and flavor shots(with color coded caps). Lots of info on the label...except dates. Sales every weekend on E-juice. A 5 pack of 6ml samples where you pick all 5.
On the downside, there is no info on the description of flavors.

I am not affiliated with TVR, they just get most of my vaping budget. I found their store front, bought my starter kit there, and have been analog free for a month. Great people, give them a look!
