Anyone else ever noticed a metallic taste in their mouths in the morning? Today when I woke up I noticed this horrible taste, sort of a cross between metal and blood if that makes sense?? Hard to describe, but sure wasn't "right" by any stretch of the imagination. No visible blood when blowing my nose or coughing, so I'm a bit confused at this taste.
It didn't last long, but then I did have my morning caffeine soon after I woke up so possibly that flavor overpowered the horrible one? Who knows?

Just wondered if maybe it could be a sinus issue? Seems like I've been stuffed up forever and a day since I started vaping.
Any thoughts?

I've had sinus problems since I was young and smoking and that's 45 years. I've been vaping for 4 months and haven't had that problem. Sure wish I could help, but I haven't experienced it although some juices taste chemically to me.

If you're using PG maybe that could cause it, not sure. I have really cut down on PG and I seem to feel so much better, with headaches and other weird symptoms.

I Did. But then again, I drank a ton of Jack and Coke last night.

Do you drink a lot of water and brush your teeth after your last vape for the night?

PG and VG is supposed to take a lot of water to metabolize.

I probably don't drink enough water honestly and now that I think about it, I had literally no water all day Sunday - this morning was when I woke up with the nasty taste. Hmm..interesting.
I have no white stuff on my tongue, and I would agree, sounds like thrush.
I also brush and rinse with Crest ProHealth before bed.
Beginning to think it was the lack of water. Will see how it is tomorrow because again, I had very little water today. I am SO bad at drinking water :( Just am not that fond of it.

The white residue sounds like thrush. You might want to get it checked out.
What is thrush? It sounds bad. But I dunno if this problem is an actual medical condition because it only just started when I began vaping. But that may be a coincidence now that I think about it. Also, I brush twice a day and floss and use mouthwash after every meal and snack. Brush in the morning and before bed.

Thrush is a yeast infection of the mucus membrane lining of the mouth and tongue.
Thrush appears as whitish, velvety lesions in the mouth and on the tongue. Underneath the whitish material, there is red tissue that may bleed easily. The lesions can slowly increase in number and size.

Thrush (Candida) Symptoms, Causes and Treatments of Trush (there's a pic of thrush here..however, not a "real" pic but gives you an idea)

I would say that you're probably detoxing. Whenever I've done a cleanse or have quit smoking cigs I will sometimes get a metallic or strange taste in my mouth after sleeping, especially if I'm not drinking enough water. Remember that your body does a lot of cleansing while you sleep, and if you're not drinking enough water during the day to cleanse a lot of the junk out, it's going to come out when you sleep...in all kinds of ways.

So my guess is that if you've just stopped smoking cigarettes and went to vaping, your body is doing some serious detoxing and this is the reason for the metallic taste.

As for the white on your tongue (which could very well be unrelated to the metallic taste), it could be yeast--candida, thrush, as the above posters indicated. Go pick up some acidopholous from your local co-op/natural foods store, and take it three times a day. This should help, but most likely won't kill the yeast altogether. Getting rid of candida takes some serious diet changes and cleansing.

Drink LOTS of water! You'll be surprised at the symptoms you avoid while detoxing if you stay hydrated.

I've been getting that metalic taste even while vaping for long periods of time. I'm wondering if this has something to do with my metal drip tip. Didn't have this taste while I used the plastic carts. Think I'm going to switch to a plastic or aluminum or whatever type that isn't metal and see if that helps my problem lol
