Every morning since I had that swollen throat problem about a week ago I think, every morning now I wake up with a sore/swollen throat, awful metal taste in my mouth and dryness all around. Sinuses have been stuffy for a good 4 days now, though I can most likely blame that on the weather here.

It's getting a tad annoying when I wake up and it hurts to talk. I get up, get a drink that is not water, cause water seems to make that awful taste even worse, and the swollen/soreness and stuff goes away in about 30 minutes of me being up. And I don't have any troubles after and throughout the day/night. I have noticed though that if I vape on one side of my mouth for long periods, my gums become sore as well.

I don't know if I should cut PG out or lower it, or just blame all this on my sinuses.. cause they cause lots of trouble it seems around this time of the year. Anyone have any similar experiences?

PG and VG are REALLY drying to your mucus membranes - it does usually pass but in the meantime a lot of us used the mouthwash that helps with 'dry mouth' by Biotene (they do throat sprays as well) to limit the annoyance. it helped a LOT for the overnight dry mouth/throat issues.
I also found my eyes became a lot drier so I started using eye drops again (I have slightly dry eyes anyway) and my skin also got a lot drier. I was expecting this though, as PG adn VG are known humectants.
You should really increase your liquid intake during hte day by at least half as much as you would normally consume. Water is best but anything is better than nothing (excepting coffee and alcohol which will add to the dryness).
I found that after about a month the extreme dryness faded a lot and I no longer need the Biotene unless Ive not drank much that day but still vaped a lot (it comes back if you're not vigilant with your liquid intake).

Yep, I'm in the same boat, my throat has been killing me this month....

I blame my sinuses, because I have not had the problem the year and few months I have vapped. I've almost gave up vapping it's starting to inoy me so much these last few weeks......

I was experiencing the same thing up until this past Friday. I have been vaping 100% PG with a Joye 510 for over a year now.

I had tried VG juice but I didn't feel like it vaped as well as the PG. I had a few bottles of VG that i had ordered that have been sitting around for a while because I just couldn't get the flavor or TH that I was getting with the PG.

On Thursday my new Joye eGo arrived. Since this puts out a higher voltage than the 510, I thought I would give the VG juice a try again. It was excellent! But what really has me sold is that I have not been waking up with a sore throat or the taste in my mouth that made me feel like I had smoked a pack of analogs before bed.

I have since been switching off between PG/VG and found that I still have not had that sore throat or gross taste in my mouth when i wake up. I'm not sure if its the VG or the eGo but I would try switching jucies and see if that works first.

PG dries me out relentlessly, and it did not pass with time. Even drinking water all the time did not really help. VG does not dry me out at all. All my juices are VG DYI, with the only PG being in the flavor itself, so about 10% in my juices. No issues at all from drying out. Also none of that flowery PG taste, and I can tell with PG juices right away. Over time, PG also started making mouth sores, and I have none of that with VG.

Definitely try at the very least, lowering the amount of PG - if not going 100% VG. Swollen mouth almost sounds like an allergic reaction. I'm not allergic, per-se, but I can't handle the intense dehydrating effects of high PG in most juices. I've had good luck since moving to a 50/50 ratio. But swollen mouth? Yikes - 100% VG might not be a bad idea

I switch weekly or so between VG and PG and have found that my swollen tonsils and dry throat do not subside with either. I have been vaping on and off for over 3 years and only for the past 6 months have I not smoked a single cig. Only when I quit smoking and started vaping did my sinuses and swollen tonsils kick in and I live in Hawaii so the weather here never gets too dry nor too cold so I cannot explain the reasons for my dilemma except that it has to be from vaping.

If anyone ever finds scientific proof that vaping is the cause of this, I would definitely want to know. Although I seriously doubt vaping could possibly be worse than smoking, nobody actually knows what long term effects PG or VG has. Until then, I will keep on vaping:).

Same thing here. My throat and tonsils became so swollen, red, and sore for a couple months straight. I hate going to the Dr.s so I began overdosing pretty bad with advil, I mean it was PAINFUL. Then I finally went to the Dr. to get prescriptions. I think the relentless irritation brought on an infection. My course of anitbiotics brought down the swelling somewhat but Im still vaping and irritating the area. It was a very strange sore throat, Ive never had one like that. There was bleeding and some of the tissue from my tonsils turned white (not to be confused with white spots from bacteria or virus itself) just weird....

I would think that would be tonsillitis or something close to that. Reason I had mine taken out because I kept getting swollen tonsils and white spots. Hope those antibiotics worked ok for ya. I'm going to try switching up a few things and see if that helps with my problem
