Well, joke's on me and I should have known better. I've been purchasing my flavoring from the local Asian supermarket, mostly vanilla, banana and strawberry . The first time I checked the label all I read was propylene glycol and vanilla additive. I dismissed that the other ingredient is methanol, up until now I just assumed that since it was in so many different brands of food flavoring that it was safe. The brand is a product of China, and pretty much every other brand on their shelves contain identical ingredients, (many not from China). Methanol is a byproduct of numerous chemicals and is literally not used for anything, at least in our country, except as a solvent or for other factory uses. I've been putting this junk in my liquid for a year as a cheap alternative to achieving the same taste as dekang eliquids, which makes me wonder about China's own eliquids and the contents of the flavorings they use . Methanol (not menthol) is a known neurotoxin that (tastes awesome) destroys your CNS, causes blindness in pure amounts of 10ml and death at 30ml. Be wary okay? Hopefully I'm the only idiot that has done this for personal use and that people who sell their stuff as American Made have had more sense than I. Funny that when DIY first became a reality the paranoia was that Chinese liquids would have lead contaminant in them, not as bad as lead by far but worth hesitation. Does anyone have any additional insight on this issue?
