Ive heard from a medic that mexican cotton is very good quality cotton, how does it compare to shiseido and Japanese cotton? whats the hype with Japanese cotton?
Half the appeal of "Japanese cotton" is that it's combed into pads so the strands all go in the same direction, making it easier to work with and promoting better wicking.
That's why I used the quotes, "japanese cotton" isn't necessarily grown in japan, it's processed there. It's grown clean and processed to be used as high end makeup pads, so it's soft, clean, and absorbent. If your cotton works for you though, great! Either way it works out to a few cents per wick, so we're all winners.
