Mornin' all.
I only got a few hours of sleep last night but I'm feeling great. I would like to thank all great people who ventured all the way out to my little corner of the woods. You guys made the BBQ a lot of fun.
Here's a sample of what things looked like.
Dr. Fred working his magic.

Now to quote Tom Waits from a concert from a long time ago, "I'd like to thank you all for coming, it would have been kinda weird around here if nobody would have shown up."

It was indeed a pleasure.

Good food. Good company.

I'm a little picky about my beer. My son in law brewed what we had on tap. (he's brewed for Frog Island Brewery in Ypsi and is working on opening his own brewpub)
We had a Scotch Ale and a Black IPA (cascadian hopped dark ale). I had a couple people tell me the beer was great and that they didn't think they liked beer. The kid's good.
He started working on those a couple months before the BBQ.

Looks like a damn good time! I tried to organize something like this here in Utah but ran into some small problems ($$). Still wanting to do it so would love to hear how you raised the $$ for the food, supplies and beer. BBQ is relatively cheap but I'm not made of money so can't afford it all and folks seem to be leery to give money.

I raised my wallet out of my pocket.
In all fairness, my son in law brewed the beer and only charged me what it cost to brew it. Dr. Fred took care of the ribs and most people brought a dish to pass. I got a good deal on the brisket and pork roast at a local country meat market but I still managed to spend a few bills on extra stuff and table rentals and such. This is just something I wanted to do. I love throwing parties. Plan on doing it again next year. Wanna come?
