micro coil?

Ok so putting the cart a bit before the horse but I'm eagerly awaiting my rm2 vapemail this week and new to rebuildables. Looks easy enough from the video on reo's site but have also been watching micro coil how tos on you tube. Can someone easily dumb it down for me the difference between a simple four or five wrap coil and these micro coils. I'm getting a multimeter tomorrow so I will be practicing safe ohm vs batteries.
