Micro-controller and a 12v power supply

Recently I was able to get my micro controller (an ESP32) to control a vape through a
IRLB3034 mosfet. The system has a 12v 1A power supply and I was unable to get that to drive the coil. What I did was use a 3.7v battery and run that through the mosfet to the coil. Sure it works, but it was not ideal. Is it possible to drive a coil using current from the 12v 1A power supply?

The 3034 is fine for e cigarette use.
The batteries we use for vaping are generally rated at 3.7V nominal with an output of ~10-35Amps.
IMO, 1Amp is not going to cut it.

12V 1A is 12 watts. So while it is possible to wind a coil for 12V or use a power converter, this is all the more restrictive.

Thanks for the replies. I am glad I was not crazy for keeping the battery in the system (for the amps). It is not ideal but it works so I will run with it. I was hoping converting the 12v to 3.7 or adding a giant cap might be a workaround.
