I read a post recently about a brief visit to the microwave being useful to take the edge off of some juices, possibly by removing the alcohol. I tried it with a month old 5ml Bananas Foster sample I had that had a sharp edge just to see what would happen. I took off the top and gave it a five second shot, but that seemed so short that I gave it another five seconds. The bottle got hot and shrank a bit! After it cooled down, I dripped it and sure enough, the juice became mellow and the flavors came through. It went from unvapeable to pleasant!

I think I went too long for such a small bottle, but it sure tastes good! I'm thinking about trying it for a little less time with a couple other juices. Has anyone had a bad outcome when trying this? Am I one of only a couple people trying this?

I posted about doing it several days ago, may have been my post you read, where I promptly got ridiculed for doing it even though I found out about it right here on the forum.

Go figure...

But anyway, here's the link to the original thread (still current) where I first read about it.

There are some precautions that should be followed I think, which are outlined there.
