I guess you didn't read to OP's post very carefully.

To get a Provari with a full range of battery support and a color other than silver,
$179.95 ProVari Mini with color
+ $19.95 Extension End Cap
+ $14.99 extension tube
--------
$214.85 Not even close to $150. Not to mention batteries and charger if they don't have them already.

Provari doesn't have VW which the OP asked for. The OP made a point to state they didn't want a Provari. Yet you ignored pretty much everything the OP wanted (and didn't want) and basically said, "Just get a Provari".

Did you actually read the first post in this thread?

Actually I did read the post which is why I offered the Lavatube and the Spire. Both of those fit his profile, and they are the only ones out of all the ones mentioned here that have a year warranty, which I find crucial, considering how many mods out there rarely live to see their first birthday.

I love how you decided to pick on the ProVari user when other users were also offering mods that clearly didn't fit the OP's preference, specifically stainless steel mods. There solution was to J-Wrap it..... But you didn't call them on that.

I simply mentioned that if you are going to spend $150 on a mod that has no post warranty support, then it's foolish not to spend the extra 9 bucks for a mod that does.

I did not add the cost of paint or an extension tube because those are strictly optional costs. One can simply J-Wrap a Silver Provari for less than the paint, and one can save up and get extension tubes later. or not at all if they choose.

I didn't even "link" to the ProVape shop like I linked to Beyond Vape and Volcano Cigs.

You are the one who read "just get a ProVari" You put words into my mouth.

The reason I stated what I did, is because I find a lot of people who reject a ProVari out of hand have been misinformed by folks like yourselves who keep saying 'they cost over 200 bucks'.

I had a friend on here who almost bought a used standard for $150.00 in the classies because he thought he was getting a killer deal until I told him the same silver one costs $159.00 brand new. He had heard the $200 for a ProVari so many times from folks like you that he believed it as fact.

I was simply letting him know that ProVari's are not as expensive as he may have heard from others. I also provided him with links to two mods that fit in his profile and price range.

My motivation was to make sure his friend spent his $150.00 and got the best device he could for his money, not throw it down the toilet in 9 months.

Exactly what were your motivations?

listen OP, the provari really is the only tested tube device in that price range worth buying.
If you didn't need it to be tested dependable id say go with a seven22 or a sigelei 20.
if you didn't need it to be a tube I'd say get a shan mod

quite simply, your buddies money would be best spent adding a little more and getting a used provari off the classifieds (you can pick up a near full kit with extensions and usually extras for $160 or so). Or he should stick to the low end, Vamos, SIDs, ZMAX, etc. Or suck up the whole box mod thing and get an MVP because it really is the best cheap vv running.

The other option is to become an early adopter of these new higher wattage devices coming out of china. but there is risk there.

Seriously, just convince him to get a provari. Its the best device in the standard power VV class, and as p.opus said, you'd be a fool to skip it for $9.
Get one used, throw a wrap on it. and if he doesn't like it, sell it for everything you got in it rather than throwing it away (like you would most its competition)

Ok guys lets not fight. Love the passion and defense though. :). He will probably stick with bcc type toppers, probably a nautilus or kanger aero mega when they get released. It's lookin like spire is what I'll get him. It's sleek, telescoping and a decent step up from vamo.

skip the spire. its a body kit. internally its a ZMax v3. Get one of those and have square trade cover it. 3 years should run you less than $10

That's one of my main challenges looking for a device. Really almost everyone uses 1 of 3 different internals.

nivel chip, okr t10, 33.3 chip, provari board, buzz board, dna20, dna30, sx220, sx350, 48hz board, evic board just to name a few.

in all reality, have you considered a buzz pro? Notcigs.com go check them out.

Actually I did read the post which is why I offered the Lavatube and the Spire.
Then you immediately called his friend penny wise and pound foolish for not getting a ProVari.

I love how you decided to pick on the ProVari user when other users were also offering mods that clearly didn't fit the OP's preference, specifically stainless steel mods. There solution was to J-Wrap it..... But you didn't call them on that.
No, they didn't fit all of the OP's preferences but they did fit some and were within the OP'S budget, unlike the ProVari. The only mod they said they didn't want is the ProVari. By the way, even going with a J-Wrap, a ProVari with the features the OP was looking for would still be over $200.

As much as I'm sure you want to believe it's a ProVari thing, it has nothing to do with being a ProVari. If you had mentioned any other mod that the OP said they didn't want and was well over their budget I'd be saying the same things.

I simply mentioned that if you are going to spend $150 on a mod that has no post warranty support, then it's foolish not to spend the extra 9 bucks for a mod that does.
Yet it was well over the OP'S budget (not just $9) to get the features they wanted, and the OP already stated that their friend didn't want a ProVari, which you ignored. Yeah, telling them they're foolish not to go over budget to buy a mod they don't want is very helpful.......

I did not add the cost of paint or an extension tube because those are strictly optional costs.
Those are things the OP said they wanted. Maybe the OP didn't consider them optional.

You are the one who read "just get a ProVari" You put words into my mouth.
Well,
Of course by rejecting a brand new ProVari at $159.00 off hand, I think your friend is being penny wise and pound foolish, but it's his money.
It's one thing to compare a Provari with a tube in the 40 buck range. Another thing all together to compare it to one at $150? The jump by that time is so small you are going to reject ProVari's proven track record for 9 bucks?
that pretty much says "just get a ProVari" to me. Obviously you disagree.

I've never said a ProVari costs $200. I stated the price for the ProVari in this thread because that is what it would cost with the features the OP was asking for. Don't put words in my mouth.

My motivation was to make sure his friend spent his $150.00 and got the best device he could for his money, not throw it down the toilet in 9 months.
Even if it was a mod that the OP stated their friend didn't want, and was well over their budget.

But hey, you threw your e-LVT in your toilet and it was brand new! ;)

Exactly what were your motivations?
To hopefully get you to pay more attention and actually listen to what people want, don't want, and are asking for, then to base your recommendations on that, not on what you decide they should have.

Mezrein, glad you found what you were looking for, I hope your friend enjoys it!
