I went with a BB first, my reason was very simple. Yes, I could have bought a VV for the same cost maybe even less, but then what would I have if it needs to be repaired. Also the vaping world is still new, who is to say that in 2 or 3 years the company you bought your VV from will still be here. Even if the maker of the SB's/BB's aren't, there good chance that anything that goes wrong with it I can fix myself.

Now, this doesn't mean I don't want a VV, but it means I know I always have a reliable pv on hand when it is needed. It is also nice knowing that when I leave the house for the day all I need to have with me is an extra battery, which being the size of a AA doesn't take up much space, an extra bottle of juice and a spare wick just incase something goes wrong with mine. All those items fit in a small coin purse so doesn't take up much space at all.

As to being stuck I don't think I am stuck with it, I use a vivi nova on my BB, as I rebuild the heads myself I have control over what resistance it is. More wraps with the wire higher resistance.

As far as not knowing any better, I spent hours researching the different models, reading and watching reviews, asking people questions. I did this for a couple of months before I decided what route I was going to go past my ego-T.

I still have my 901 batts after upgrading for the same reason. And I'm looking for a mechanical or simple electronic mod for the same reason. I can vape an LR carto at 3.7 and be okay. And I'd prefer for it to be pretty. Something attractive like a BB, Precise+, Empire, or even the Smoktech Telescope. would make an awesome backup to your VV device that would work and be attractive, even if it's not giving a perfect vape. And there are situations where something as gorgeous as the P+ 10440 would fit in a lot better than something with more knobs and buttons. Some people think that's worth paying for.

Why VW? Beautiful even consistent vape. Darwin -- with all the bells and whistles and until a few months ago, the only VW device made. Easy wheel, wonderful display with data useful for any vapor....not just geeks. Some don't like the format of the APV blah blah blah, but few who have used dis the vape.

VW Kick can turn many non-regulated 18650 mods (which are abundant) into a simple VW device without bells and whistles.

I think several others have answered why 5 volt or 3.7 devices. Once you've owned one you may see for yourself. Quality does make a difference. IMO many of the chinese imports are almost like disposables -- use for a few months and replace with the latest model or throw it away when it breaks.

I always carry more than one device. Often it's an inexpensive model or 2 and a small US made stealthy device. My US device has never failed me. I can't say that about the others.

I can definately understand the appeal of VV, I just haven't felt the need to go there yet. I use joye 18650's, a P16 Precise, and a big ole green Silver Bullet. 1.7 ohm cartos put me RIGHT where I wanna be.

That's not to say I won't get one....but if I buy another device, that device is REALLY gonna have to impress me. So far it hasn't happened. Now...if altsmoke were to make a VW sleeve with a display on it for the Silver Bullet, not just a kick sleeve...something that is one solid peice, that would be an example of what would trip my trigger.

I've been vaping for almost 3 years and I still like simplicity over all else, which is why I use what I use. Grab it, a few cartos, and go about my day.
