It's time I got a quality VV device. I have a silver bullet, I run it at either, 3.7, 5, or 6 volts. But it's time for me to get a VV device outside of my Twist. Let the recommendations flow, I don't want to spend a ton of money on this though, so "quality" might be subjective. I'd like to get a device around the $100 range give or take a few bucks.

You could put a Kick module in your silver bullet and have and awesome variable wattage device for around $45. There's even an extension ring for the SB that allows you to use an IMR 18650. As far as a VV device for around $100, you have some options. MadVapes is making some tube mods based on the ZMaxx circuit board...the ClearMax and the AcryliMax. They both share the same features as the ZMaxx for $79.99 plus batteries. If you find them out of stock, be patient. They'll have more in shortly. There's also some Chinese VV mods like the Gripper VV that will run you around $50 plus batteries. The LavaTube is another option. Since Volcano released the LT, just about every vendor has a variation of it at a very reasonable price.

The Kick module is a great product especially if you have a device that accepts one. The only drawbacks are that you have to remove it when you switch out your battery and you have to use a little screwdriver to make wattage adjustments. Once it's set to your liking though, it will automatically adjust the voltage depending on the atty/carto you may select. I have one and it's a monster! The ClearMax/AcryliMax devices have been getting great reviews. The Voltage/Wattage meter isn't dead accurate like a ProVari but you should get a great vape from it just the same. Do some research and you'll find something that will suit your needs. Good luck!!!

You might consider an Altoids or Penguin tin VV mod made by a modder named Caged and sold by SmartVapes.

For $60 (shipped), you get the best switching regulator on the market (a 6-amp OKR/t6-w12), an internal voltage display, dual 18650 ICR battery life, and a metal box with very solid interior construction. Voltage regulation is as rock-solid as on a ProVari, with even more power and higher voltage if you want it. The only drawbacks (in my opinion) are that these mods are fairly large (3.75" x 2.3" x .8") and not usually in stock (they appear a couple at a time and get snapped up pretty fast---get on SmartVapes email list for notification when they come in). I own the Penguin tin version and consider it one of my best PVs, right up there with my ProVari, Vmax, BuzzPro/iPro, etc.

For about the same price, SmokTek sells a smaller form factor 3AA-size plastic box that uses the identical 6-amp regulator and dual 14500s (but without a voltage display). Both are great choices.

As an aside, I have two Kicks---one in an Omega (using an 18500 IMR), and another in a non-extended Bolt (using an 18350 IMR). Both perform beautifully at their full tilt setting of 10 watts, which is as much power as I personally need. I also have a red Acrylimax VW on the way from Madvapes, but I can't offer an opinion about that yet.

You don't need the sleeve. It just lets you use the 18650 vs the 18500 making the already large SB even larger! I just sent for a "Kiklet" from SuperTManufacturing. If you haven't heard of it...it's a device that holds a Kick and can be used on any mechanical tube mod, using its regular battery size. You don't have to keep removing the Kick every time you need to change out the battery. Super t also carries the Kick as well.
