might be a stupid question but...

If it's the act of smoking you want but not to get back on nicotine, you can use ecigs but with 0 nicotine liquid. If that's the case, after you try it out and if you decide you want to keep at it, then it would be silly to purchase the relatively expensive commerical 0 nic liquid. You could save tons of money by simply buying glycerin and adding a few drops of flavor for your own DIY liquid.

I just became aware of e-cigs today. I have been quit for 8 months but still have an incredible desire for a cig. If it weren't for the health drawbacks I would still be smoking. Question is, is this something I could take up even tho I've already quit smoking?

Rozy--if you already went through the whole deal of quitting--do not waste it!!! Keep up the good work and forget it--Sun

Thanks folks. I agree just being here leads me to think I am still having issues in beating this 30 year addiction. I just don't want to start something up that I am going to have to give up with such difficulty again. I don't want to start something that is going to be unhealthy either. Quitting smoking has been the hardest thing I have ever done and I really miss it still. And yes, I have quit many times, the longest being 3 years.

My unsolicited advice lol
Stick with being nic free at the very least.
an addiction is still an addiction many years later, if you have come so far to beat your addiction for 8 months you have no physical addiction left in you , it would be very silly to revive it.
If you simply cannot avoid the psychological urges ( which you can as you have for 8 months) then yeah vape away , but at the risk of not knowing what issues may arrive later. As smokers an e-cig is considered harm reduction in my opinion, however that may not be true for someone cigarette and nicotine free, it might actually be harm inducing??
stick to your guns if you can ! :)
